Hotel Grand Torino

We were there a couple of weeks ago and had a great time, initial impressions were varied, we did arrive at 2230 and the bar was closed but the room was big, clean and quite impressive. The food was really brilliant, my wife has coeliac and Luigi was fabulous in understanding her requirements (gluten free pasta was great; also knowing what puddings she couldn't have). The dinner menu was incredible, 3 courses not including a salad bar; the half board deal included 1x glass of red wine, they re-filled at no extra cost and the wine was lovely, and i'm a bit fussy! Train to Venice was no problem and included in the deal, including tickets purchased by Gianluca and the team, drop off and collection at local train station. Loved the thermal pool, really good for the mind and body, great for a refresh. My advice would be see beyond the hotel that they are trying to renovate and look at the sensitivity of the staff, the chef's efforts with the cuisine and there is a wonderful trip that awaits you - for the deal we had on TravelZoo I would recommend it 100%. thanks to the staff for a wonderful 4 days, Wayne and Ali

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. Had the loveliest time. Super location - just a short distance from the larger cities of Venice,Verona and Padua. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Food was great, drink prices very reasonable and we made very good use of the outdoor thermal pool. Spacious, clean rooms. Hotel may be a little dated but was made up for by the warmth and hospitality of the staff.

Jenny is the newest Biggest Asset at this Hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. She is knowledgeable and friendly, she made our 4 night stay go really well. Her English was perfect (thank goodness as my Italian is nonexistent!) Thank you Jenny Manager Luca was also very friendly. Food was good Yes as others have said carpets do need replacing but beautiful white sheets and fluffy white towels changed daily

This was so disappointing. All the spa facilities were shut apart from pool which was in a state of disrepair, no sauna or jacuzzi. The bar was shut and if you could get someone to come to it there was hardly any stock even down to , sorry no ice, REALLY !!! The rooms are very tired looking, we had to move once as the sink was leaking and the bathroom floor all was all wet. It did not help that one day myself and my wife were the only people staying there in a nearly 200 room hotel. I can only think they are going bust and just running the business down. Half way through the “holiday “ we were going to leave but getting flights out were being quoted at £260 each. I would point out though the head waiter and his staff were really friendly and obliging. This holiday is still being offered by Travelodeal so please be aware

Ci siamo concessi una giornata di relax con amici all'hotel Gran Torino. L'hotel deve riprendere vita, probabilmente dopo una lunga chiusura, ma la cordialità, l'accoglienza e la tranquillità che si respira in questo hotel non ha paragoni. Il signor Gianluca- direttore- è gentilissimo e disponibile, sempre con il sorriso. La colazione abbondantissima e di prima qualità. Anche i pasti, consumati all'hotel di fronte (stessa organizzazione) sono stati di nostro gradimento. Torneremo sicuramente

Ho soggiornato in questo hotel con la mia famiglia (due adulti, due bambine). Non riesco a capire come possa risultare un hotel a quattro stelle: è tutto fatiscente, dalla hall con il pianoforte (con tasti rotti) alle piscine, in cui il corrimano è rotto, dalle stanze alla colazione. Siamo arrivati alle 15.00 e la stanza non era stata ancora assegnata. Quando siamo saliti lo scarico del bagno era rotto con acqua che scendeva continuamente e rumorosamente, hanno dovuto chiamare l'idraulico (non se n'erano accorti). Il bagno di una camera quadrupla consiste in un micro-bagno in cui è impossibile stare in due, con water attaccato alla porta, nessun bidet, una doccia di misure ridotte con la tendina! La stanza grande con buon letto matrimoniale (largo e comodo) ma disposizione assurda per i letti singoli, che non hanno nemmeno una luce da lettura a disposizione (semplicemente due letti singoli addossati alle pareti). Per non dire della colazione: cornetti, buste di biscotti di pessima qualità rovesciati nei vassoi, fette biscottate imbustate a coppe, marmellatine di serie z, bevande alle macchinette, uova stracotte, pancetta fredda e wurstel di pollo (immagino perchè eravamo tra i pochissimi italiani). Insomma una qualità davvero davvero scadente. Last bust not least, la seconda mattina sotto al tavolo, vicino alla finestra, c'era una blatta morta! Quando siamo rientrati la sera c'era una musica assordante da discoteca al piano terra, quindi impossibile pensare di stare un momento in tranquillità. E tralascio il fatto che entrambe le notti siamo stati svegliati (tutti e quattro) da quanto accadeva al piano di sopra. Proprietario e personale gentile e simpatico, su questo nulla da ridire, ma sinceramente è l'unica cosa positiva. Non ho nemmeno protestato perchè qui di tratta proprio di essere capitati in un posto sbagliato. La lista di cose da dove sarebbe più lunga. Ovviamente non torneremo. Ma quattro stelle, di grazia, a cosa sono dovute? Per un quattro stelle terribile.
