This hotel is terrible, do not stay here. I regret booking this hotel, and only did so, cause the others in the area were sold out. Don't make my mistake. Our stay started before we even got to the hotel, the front desk called us at 4:52pm stating that they had oversold our two queen room, wanting us to move to a one queen room. We agreed, and said we would be to the hotel with in the next hour. Upon arriving, we checked in and headed to find our room (no indication was given by the desk as to where it was). The smell outside near our room was like sour, rotted milk. It didn't change or disapate, it was there for the whole stay. Getting into the room, it looked like staff had thrown the room together in a rush. None of the furniture was properly in place, all were 2 inches away from the walls, none of it matched, it looked like they furnished the room from a thrift store. The couch was thread bare, the dresser had water stains, the headboard had chunks missing. There was a hole in the bathroom door, as if someone had kicked it in. The glasd shelf under the mirror in the bathroom area was broken, the shower had dried paint splatters all over it. There was a stove, it was missing elements and knobs. There were misc plates, cutlery in the cupboards and drawers, none looked clean. There was a microwave, but no coffee machine or coffee. There were ants through out the room, mainly by the table/desk and dresser. The bed sheets were not clean; there was yellow crusty stains, hair, dirt on the sheets. We did not sleep in the bed, we slept on top of it. The smoke alarm was the dirtiest I have seen, as if housekeeping purposely avoided cleaning it, and went out of their way to smear dirt on it. We also checked out a day early due to unforseen circumstances, had to head back to Alberta early, we checked out with the front desk before 11am, and they still charged me for that night's stay. Having worked in hotels for 10 years, this is NOT standard practise. The staff tried telling me they need 24hrs notice to cancel a night's stay, which is what their policies online say for PRIOR to check in. Nothing about a 24hr cancellation notice after you have checked in. If you check out prior to check out time, giving the hotel time to clean and re-sell that room, you should NOT be charged for that night. Currently waiting for the GM to contact me.
