Very disappointing. Not the 5 star hotel and service we were expecting. Small room, dated furniture and bathroom appliances. Reception staff glum and in no rush to help with bags or holding open door, some looked put upon and not exactly happy to be there.

Excellent. Best breky I've had for years. Beautiful location and property. Staff were amazing. Definitely going back. Oh! We appear to have inherited a brand new shiny red breasted robin which popped in whilst we were having a cuppa.

From the start, everything was excellent Jenny, the receptionist, welcomed us with a smile and excellent service The ladies on breakfast duty are excellent Highly recommended Location on the Thames is excellent Parking, no problem, excellent Abingdon is a very nice town with nice pubs and places to eat

We recently hosted our Board dinner at The Cosener's House and the entire experience was outstanding, thanks to the incredible team behind the scenes. The food was absolutely delicious, and the dining room was perfectly quiet, creating an intimate and private atmosphere for the evening. A special shoutout to Michelle, the events organiser as well as Heney and the two waitresses who were on duty that night. They were so attentive and friendly, ensuring the food service flowed seamlessly after our speeches. Heney was especially impressive, even adding tea and coffee last minute—something I hadn’t even thought of! His ability to adapt on the spot made everything run smoothly. The event felt effortless, and the attention to detail from the entire team really elevated the evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to working with them again in the future. Highly recommend for any event!

The main house is beautiful we had an orchard room which was nice and relatively clean but nothing overly special, views were lovely setting is beautiful. Food in the evening was mediocre at best for the price drinks were excessively expensive. The man on the front desk we found very stand off ish and odd. The lady in the evening was a very nice lady but didn’t know much about the drinks available or food available the menu isn’t great either. Breakfast food was lovely service not so much we had to ask for everything sometimes twice. It was like it was there first weekend opening and nobody quite knew what they were doing. I was really looking forward to this stay as I hadn’t seen many negative reviews I would not recommend this place nor would I stay again.

The Cosenors House is run by a great team who really know how to look after guests. It's very rare to have this level of friendly personal service in an age of 'self check in' and 'vending machines', and all at a competitive rate. Always an enjoyable stay. Also a great location, walking distance from Abingdon town centre and the Thames. Very secluded and tranquil setting, with river views from the breakfast room.

Good Room and facilities, good bed with an excellent shower, appreciated. Helpful and courteous staff. Excellent breakfast choices, continental or cooked. Good evening meal very tasty. Very good WIFI. Ideally situated to visit the town centre. I would recommend a stay here.

My initial reticence was due to the finding of the place to start with …… so my advice to travelling by bus to Coseners … don’t get off at vineyard a stay on 35 or x3 till Abingdon high street follow the road through the arches to hotel 4/5 mins !!!!! Anyway , after that my single en suite room was cosy and the view was stunning x I only had breakfast ; the continental part was fine nice pastries , yogurt fruits juices croissants …. Lovely My cooked breakfast I found a bit greasy ; with a strange taste .. sadly I missed black pudding week .. the catering for the event I attended , afternoon tea, was really gorgeous , scones etc fantastic 😃 the bar was cosy and the outside space really beautiful …. but the star of this place for me was the staff ; everyone I spoke to from desk bar cleaning and waiting staff were delightful friendly; charming smiley and took time … lovely thank you 🙏

It’s the fourth time we’ve stayed and each time has been a great experience no complaints. Good for setting great staff good food cannot recommend it highly enough especially in the summer when you get the full feel of the beautiful gardens.
