Giannoulis - Santa Marina Plaza (Adults Only)

A gem of a hotel. Its perfect size (in our view!....around 45 rooms) and the super friendly and helpful staff make it feel like a family owned hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. The hotel is built around its pool which merges into a small lawn area that then meets the beach and the sea. The hotel has its own loungers on the beach and plenty are available such that we never encountered any problems securing a lounger when we wanted one. We stayed half-board and enjoyed the buffet breakfast and evening meal. The range of dishes available at the evening buffet changes each day and we were always excited to see what was on the menu each evening - and we found the food to be super tasty and well cooked. The beach at Agia Marina (where the hotel is located) is lovely, offering a long sandy strip on Sea of Crete - with views across to Theodorou island, and to Chania in the distance. There isn't a promenade along the sea-front with the main road running around 100m inland from the sea but the full length of the resort can be walked via the sandy beach. The sea was a lovely temperature (in June) and we were pleased to see life guard 'stations' every few hundred metres. Agia Marina is around 5 or 6 miles from Chania which we visited on three occasions using the local bus service and taxis (its a fixed fare to Chania - 2Euros by bus, 17Euros by taxi). Chania has a beautiful old town area and harbour with lots of smart shops, bars and restaurants. Its worth making an evening visit to see the harbour area at night. All in all a lovely hotel that provided a perfect setting for a relaxing week's holiday.

we had a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. my husband had his 60 th birthday while we were here and the hotel did a beautiful birthday cake and pastries and a bottle of sparkling wine on ice and put it in our room. We were so looked after and will definitely be back

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff certainly made it extra special. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Particular mention must go to Alexander, Christine, Niki, Thras and Victoria. They were jyst fantastic and always on the ball with everything. Our rooms were immaculately clean and so comfortable. The products in the bathroom smelt amazing. The bed was so comfortable. We did not want to leave. I had read all the reviews prior to booking this hotel but you can never guarantee they are correct. I am here to tell you every single positive review is so true! Absolutely wonderful hotel. Thank you…each and everyone of you…for making our holiday as fantastic as it was.

Our room was amazing, with a lovely view of the sea and the beach with its beautiful sunrises. It had a lovely arched ceiling, like the old Roman buildings. The staff were all lovely and friendly and helpful. They seemed to want us to have a lovely relaxing time, which we did. The menu was varied and catered for all tastes and special diets.

We had a fabulous relaxing week. The hotel is absolutely spotless and the staff are exceptional. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the hotel is in a great location with its own beach and shops nearby. Thank you to all of the team, we highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return.
