Toxo Hotel

I can warmly recommend Toxo to anyone visiting Platanias but especially to families travelling with children. It's a very well kept hotel in a calm location just a few hundred meters off the main road and the beach. The apartments are spacious, modern, clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning good. The pool area has enough sunbeds for all the guests and the two pools are good for swimmers of all ages. There are also a couple of indoor areas for everyone to spend time in with a small library, some board games and a pool table. The slightly dated gym was also a great bonus. We had breakfast at the hotel and that too was excellent. The breakfast menu was long enough to meet the whole family's needs. I also recommend you to try the hotel restaurant. The food there is affordable and lovely and the portions are big. Don't be afraid to book an evening flight home, for an extra charge of only 30€ you get to keep your apartment till six o'clock.

Arrived very late and reception was closed but rang the phone number and manager arrived to show us to our room. Large apartment, 2 storey with 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with 3 balconies. 2 double beds and air con in each room including the lounge area. Clean with a small kitchen area with fridge and crockery and cutlery and washing up equipment. Proper clothes airer which was nice. Well kept hotel and very clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Pool bar. Beds were comfy, good pillows. Nice pool area. Good size hotel not too big. Parking under hotel. 2 min walk to the main street with all the restaurant and shops. Then a further 4 min walk to the beach. I would return. The size of the apartment was a positive for us. Towels changed regularly.

I had an overall terrible experience at this hotel. For the first three days, the toilet couldn't flush. We reported this to the staff, and each day for three days straight, they replaced the button on the toilet, but it still couldn't flush. On the fifth day, an insect crawled into our room through the apartment door because the door was of such poor quality. We fortunately saw and filmed this, and pictures are shown below since videos can't be uploaded here. The low-quality door also caused us to be woken up at 8 AM for three days in a row due to noise from people talking outside. We informed the staff about the insect crawling into our room and getting into our belongings, which was extremely disgusting since insects can carry diseases. They told us to wait outside because someone would come in 30 minutes, but we ended up waiting for 1.5 hours before someone finally arrived and killed the insect in the room. They refused to change our room or give us a refund despite the door that couldn't be closed properly and the toilet that couldn't flush. It was only after we mentioned that we would write a review about the hotel that we were given a new room, but this was only for one day since we were going home the next day, which doesn't compensate for the horrible experience we had. Overall, the service was horrible, and the hotel was unacceptable, with insects and a toilet that couldn't flush. There was no refund, and this was unacceptable. I would not recommend stay

Nice hotell. Marvellous beds. Clean, quiet, and nice. Lots of beautiful plants, very nice people. Not allowed to eat or drink next to the pool, but the only negative. Beautiful place, close to everything.

Excellent stay in a friendly hotel with friendly personell! Clean and nice pool area, pool bar and sun beads. Got an upgraded room that was cleaned/refreshed every day. Close distance to restaurants and shopping. Easily accessible from Chania city and affordable!! Beyond expectations, higly recommended!

I stayed in Toxo for a week holiday September 2023. And I LOVED it! Cleanest hotel I have ever been in Greek. Beds are super nice, though there are no blankets, but bedsheets, but the temperature was 26-27C so it wasn't a problem at that time :) It is very quiet hotel, no sounds of any traffic from streets - the hotel is 100-200 meters from main street and the location can't be more perfect - you are in the middle of Platanias and Agia Marina, close to both areas at the same time! Staff was so friendly and helpful at all times, thanks to Tonia, cleaners, Pool Bar staff and all of them! I will definately recommend this hotel to anyone who wants clean and quiet hotel but with very friendly and helpful staff. Also WiFi works fine, every room has own WiFi access point, and a personal room cooler.
