Minos Palace Hotel & Suites - Adults Only

The hotel is very suitable for couples, clean and quiet. The only drawbacks are 2: 1. The rooms are old. 2. The hotel charges a fee for using the sauna.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this incredible hotel. Everything about this place is top class. I cannot speak highly enough about it. In particular the staff provided the most amazing service, it was spotlessly clean all the time, and the facilities were all incredible

My husband and I spent 8 nights at this hotel and had such a lovely time. The hotel is set in a peaceful location with great views , lots of different areas to relax and sunbathe in throughout the day , whether you want the beach , infinity pool or one of the sunbathing decks jutted into the side of the rocks. Drinks service was very prompt , u just scanned the QR code and they were delivered to your sun lounger . We never had a problem finding a lounger . Most lunchtimes we went to Nyn Restaurant where we throughly enjoyed the food, wine , relaxing setting , and such wonderful friendly staff who made us feel so welcome . Thank you to Anthimos, Marina, Maria, Anastasia and Eleni you really made our holiday . The evening we visited this restaurant was very special , such a great setting with the perfect view , so amazing . We also ate at the hotel buffet restaurant which had plenty of choice and we found breakfast also to be of good standard. Pre dinner drinks with the poolside view and the sea in the background was lovely. We also both had treatments in the Spa which were really good. We had a sunset seaview room which was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view over the bay to the town. We booked a semi private Catamaran trip which was really great , lovely food , great staff and plenty of drinks, would def recommend. We went into Agios Nikolaos for dinner at Skala by the Lake , and visited the new Piato restaurant twice as loved it so much . We also booked a beach day at Ammoundi Club, the food here was well worth a visit even if not going to beach . (7 euros in a taxi each way ) We also ate at the Samurai Sushi restaurant at the Royal Marmin hotel in Elounda , it was in a very tranquil setting as you looked across the bay , the food and restaurant was amazing. (23 euros each way) We booked private transfers from the airport via holiday extra which cost £115 return. We loved everything about this holiday , found all the people in Crete so friendly and the food was wonderful everywhere we went . Minos Palace hotel you really delivered for us . Thank you

We had a very relaxing stay at Minos Palace where the staff gave us an exceptionally warm welcome. The food was made from the freshest ingredients, the beds were super comfortable (special mention of the air-conditioning unit which was the quietest I've ever experienced during a hotel stay and one that didn't make the air feel too dry, which is an important part of wellness and a good night's sleep), and the location was absolutely stunning. I especially loved the gardens which were buzzing with bees around lots of native flowers, as well as trees full of birds singing. The fact that the town was an easy walk away, with a stunning boardwalk and panoramic views to enjoy, was an added bonus.

Hotel is modern. Refurbished. Beautiful setting. Lots of grounds. Gardens so pretty. Herbs and fruit trees. Lots of seating areas dotted around and the pool is spectacular. Wow factor. We spent most of our time by the sea on the rocky terraces. Gorgeous. Order drinks through the app and staff find you wherever you are sat. Staff throughout very well trained polite and efficient. Good service. That’s really why I wanted to write this review as they deserve praise. Our room was infinity blue 5th floor and we had a stunning view of the sea and the sun rising every morning. Room good as refurbished. See other peoples comments below. Minor gripes. High tech to control lights aircon etc but still a paper tag to ask not to be disturbed which just falls off. Did the free yoga classes morning and some evenings. More stretching and breathing really but appreciated they were available. Breakfast excellent. I wanted to give hotel 5 stars but some negatives. Hotel is quite far from anything. Walk to a small supermarket and cafe 1/2 mile. Not much else that close. Favourite restaurant almost first one you come to kri kri 15/20 mins. Walk to centre Agios Nicholas 30 mins. Yes taxi cheap €8 but be aware when picking hotel. The quid pro quo is that the setting is special. A shuttle bus would be a great addition. The problem for us was that the food and drink in the hotel was very expensive and not that good. I hope the food and drinks manager reads this review and gets their act together. We favoured the restaurant by the beach and had some pleasant meals even though we knew we were being ripped off. It is a 5*hotel and service setting etc was lovely. But first day lunch by the pool pretty terrible and equally expensive. Ditto the sandwich ordered by the beach bar. €16 for a sandwich on its own on a plate. €10 glass of wine. Head to a local restaurant and dine out beautifully with the locals for a fraction of the cost. We may return to the hotel but that was our biggest disappointment.

Amazing hotel, everything you could wish for from a five star hotel. Spotless and the staff were fantastic and very professional. My only criticism is that after a 7 hour journey we sat waiting for someone to come and check us in and a waitress bought us a bottle of water. It wasn't until we paid the room bill on departure that we realized we had been charged €5 for it. To me that should have been complimentary and also the do not disturb signs fall off the handles. Perhaps a sliding sign on the door might be a better option.Other than this it was a lovely place to stay.

Highlight of our stay in Crete! Such a thoughtful hotel that just finished a major renovation. Seems as if each and every detail had been throughly thought out. Situated in the mountains, the hotel almost blends into the surroundings. One of my favorite hotels I've stayed at in quite some time. I'm not a dinner buffet person, but theirs was truly great. Sun lounges are beautiful and many are built into the rocks. Easy commute from HER airport. Staff is beyond friendly. Highly recommend anyone coming to Crete make a visit to Minos Palace.

We visited Minos Palace for one week in July for our honeymoon. The hotel is as beautiful as it looks in pictures. It is incredibly clean, great location and very relaxing. They were accommodating for my gluten free diet in all meals that we had there, with plenty of options. The only real let down of the hotel is the gym. For a 'wellness' style hotel, you'd expect there to be at least a working treadmill. The equipment is VERY limited. We were also quite surprised that in staying there for a week, for our honeymoon, the hotel didn't offer anything special or complimentary. I would recommend this hotel though for sure.

This hotel is absolute perfection, for a relaxing luxury break. The staff are brilliant - every single person, from the pool, reception, spa and restaurant staff - everyone was always so friendly, polite, smiley and respectful at all times. The food was absolutely sensational - every single dish I had, from the buffet, restaurant A La Carte, as well as the pool bar, beach bar and restaurant, was absolutely delicious. The interiors of the hotel are stunning and the wellness programme / concept of their app to order food to your sunbed as well as book spa treatments and browse daily activities was brilliant. This hotel exceeded all my expectations and I’m walking away feeling very relaxed, happy and full of good memories. I hope to return!
