What a perfect place amidst olive and orange groves! We were welcomed as an old friend at this family run ecofarm, a gorgeous, calming spot. The restored building is a work of art that you shouldn’t miss. From the kind and generous staff to the beautiful scents and sights, this is a place where you can truly relax after a day in Agrigento or a visit to the Temples. The authentic, homemade food was delicious and plentiful, the homemade soap and shampoo were a delightful touch, but the stars were the people who truly wanted us to have a special visit, which we did. Thank you all for your kindness!!

Fontes Episcopi is an amazing hotel!! Where to begin…this is a gorgeous inn a short distance from Agrigento. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous. So many artistic touches create a special hotel. However, it is the people who really make this hotel outstanding. You feel like you are a guest in their home. Such warmth and care. And the meals!! Do not miss having dinner there. If I sound enthusiastic it is because of the whole experience. Our best in years of travel in Italy.

Delightful countryside villa with an olive grove, home grown vegetables and wheat that they grind for flour. Very comfortable rooms. Homemade soaps. Very welcoming and helpful. Open kitchen so that you can see/help in cooking if you wish. Delicious breakfast buffet. Nice to be able to walk around the property, animal enclosure and farm. Another group was also visiting while we were there and had booked a cooking class led by their own US-based chef. I would not eat at his restaurant—his dinner was bad. But, given the superior breakfast made by the house chefs, I would certainly try to eat in-house in the future as long as I knew no visiting chefs would be involved. I would love to return—and to stay for more than one night. A great place to relax.

Wonderful stay in beautiful, peaceful setting. Very warm and helpful staff made us feel like family. Even helped out cooking in kitchen which is the focal point of the resort. Excellent food and accomodations. A great Sicilian experience!

Very honestly, Fontes Episcopi is exactly as advertised. We have had the luxury of staying at many places around the world of this high standard, and know of the value of honestly written reviews. Fontes will not disappoint you. The food is fantastic, the grounds and buildings are kept to an exceptional level, but most of all, it is the staff. Many have a very long tenure and all care immensely about their work. They are there to serve you and by the time you leave, you will have developed a personal connection with many. There are many things to do while visiting (just ask and it will be arranged), or do very little - Fontes is a wonderful place to just take it easy and read a book in one of the lovely sitting areas. We stayed 6 nights and would have loved to stay longer. We cannot recommend Fontes any higher. Amazing place.

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels but this is a truly magical place, made more so by it's amazing staff, that we won't ever forget. So friendly, so helpful. Plus, it's just beautiful - whoever did the interiors and grounds has an amazing eye. The food was delicious, and made with love. Nothing showy, just fantastic wholesome cooking making the most of the in season local produce, and all the better for it. In fact so good and so varied we ate dinner all of our 5 nights there - something we never usually do in a hotel. Special shout out to Sarah, who really knows her Sicilian wine (which is great, as my husband is really into wine) and everyone in the kitchen. Plus also Simone (a contact of the hotel's), who gave us a really memorable and fascinating day's tour in a local village, where we learnt a lot of history and had lunch in a villager's home, something we could never have organised ourselves. Also the hotel for giving us a really interesting tour of the owner's beautiful olive groves a stone's throw from the Valley of the Temples, including the harvest and processing. Hotel was very clean, beds very comfortable, pool clean and with lovely areas to relax. The approach to the hotel may not be the most inspiring, but don't let this put you off - you can't help but fall in love with this hotel and forget it the minute you're through the gates.
