Dar Mouna

I was warmly welcomed here after a 4hr drive from Imlil and was soon allocated Room 17 which was very much to my liking. It was a studio type of room with a small lounge area and a separate en-suite bathroom. Outside was a small balcony with table and two comfortable chairs and this overlooked the main terrace. The views over to the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou were stunning. I dined in on my first night and it was a good meal but alcohol isn’t available here. Tonics were readily available for my gin however. Breakfasts were typical Moroccan food with either an omelette or boiled egg and usual bread and jams etc. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the Duty Manager arranged for a private taxi to take me back to Marrakech. Room was basic, hard to get into the room as a wall was right there when the door opened. No wifi in the rooms (well at least mine) main building upper left corner. Note on door said that would be the case. Other members in my party that were above the check in desk, had one bar. No hot water, sink or shower- ran it for 15 minutes. Others in my party, same problem. Room heater ok-- did not get to the 30c that it said it was. Dinner and breakfast were good, nice atmosphere in the restaurant, but cold. They had a couple of space heaters set up and that helped a lot. Staff was super nice, helpful and friendly.

Welk betaalbaar hotel heeft een terras met een fantastisch uitzicht op een World Heritage Site? Bijna geen een, maar Dar Mouna wel. Op het terras kan je ontbijten en dineren; als het te heet of te winderig is, is er binnen een gezellige eetzaal. De t****e highlight is het fantastische zwembad in de afgeschermde binnentuin van het hotel. Heerlijk kom na het bezoek aan Aït ben Haddou af te koelen. De kamers zijn simpel maar sfeervol. Onze douche werkte helaas slecht, de douchekop moest in de hand gehouden worden en de temperatuur van het water regelen was een hele uitdaging. Tot slot is het personeel zeer vriendelijk en biedt het hotel glutenvrij eten waarvoor ze zelf maisbrood bakken.
