Château de Saint-Girons - Luxury Guest House in Provence

This is an exquisitely beautiful property inside and out. It was like staying in a castle updated of course with well appointed furnishings, bathroom fixtures, etc. Our room was a large sized suite, the breakfast was very good, the grounds are beautiful and walkable, and the location quiet but a short driving distance from Aix-en-Provence and the airport at Marseilles. Perfect in every way. Book direct!

We left London at 11 am by Eurostar and was in The Chateau by 7.30 pm local time: earlier if we had acquired the mechanics of Uber sooner. What a beautiful place and part of France Aix is - even more so, I would imagine, in the height of summer. Despite autumn leaves falling it is a charming, relaxing, quiet chateau 15/20 mins from the station/town centre:(£12-16). Don’t be intimidated by the adjacent major road/motorway, once inside the gates peace & tranquility awaits! If you’re not in Provence ‘to tour’ I suggest registering with Uber: most efficient & cost effective. Our amicable and knowledgeable hosts, Clement & Sarah, have four spacious bedrooms on the first floor for guests. Breakfast was always delightful and plentiful – you never know what interesting guests you may meet....and of course the lugubrious boxer-dog, Jax: appearing unexpectedly for your company, one cannot but warm to him. The Chateau is steeped in family history that Clement is always willing to share with you; its extensive gardens invites exploration. Do spend an afternoon “chilling” in the square in the nearby village. An afternoon and an evening meal in Aix old town is also highly recommended. We were here for a short autumn break (5 nights which flew by) and thoroughly enjoyed it; so much so that we will revisit again in the summer months.

My husband and I stayed at this amazing property for 2 nights on our baby moon last year. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was large, spacious and incredibly comfortable. The chateau and garden were incredibly beautiful and provided the perfect environment to relax in, just a short drive away from Aix and other Provençal areas of interest. Clement and his family go out of their way to create a wonderful and personalized experience for all who visit. Cannot wait to visit again this May with our new baby and the rest of our family!

I cannot say enough of how I enjoyed my six days at this beautiful Chateau. I felt like a heroine living at Downton Abbey. Just a few minutes from the center of Aix I most enjoyed my large comfortable room and the extensive grounds. My host Clement and his lovely family were knowledgeable and extremely amenable. The breakfast was sumptuous and there was nothing like sitting by the fire or walking the large grounds. This Chateau is highly recommended with thanks.

En bordure de la nationale,du terrain d’aviation et proche de la maison d’arrêt, cette ancienne demeure laisse son parc à l’abandon et la piscine hors d’âge devrait voir ses contours entretenus et nettoyés ! Le petit déjeuner est simple, la literie très confortable,mais difficile de dormir paisiblement à causes des nuisances de la circulation incessante ! Le propriétaire très courtois en est malheureusement conscient La salle de bain est agréable

Quel plus bel écrin pouvions nous avoir pour un week-end en amoureux à Aix en Provence ? Aucun nous l'avions trouvé dans ce lieu ! De l'accueil chaleureux et souriant au petit déjeuner (pantagruélique) face au parc (il faisait trop froid pour être dehors), en passant par le top confort de la chambre comtesse... (je n'ai jamais dormi avec autant de femmes qui me regardent... 🤣) tout était parfait ! En résumé, confort 5*, accueil 5 *, petit déjeuner 5*...accès au centre d'Aix en 10 mn max.
