Casa del Sol Inn

Casa del Sol Inn is a beautiful and cozy Inn, adorned with wonderful artwork. Elizabeth and her staff were wonderful, so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is included with your stay and everything was delicious and filling! The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The only minor inconvenience was the water from the shower. Most times it was fine, but once in a while the water would trickle. The Inn has a couple areas where we could gather with our friends. We also met other people staying at the Inn and quickly became friends. The pool was a nice size and always at a comfortable temperature. It was also nice to be centrally located in the town of Ajijic, with a short walk to many restaurants, bars, stores, the plaza, and the Malecon along Lake Chapala. The staff would arrange rides or excursions for us.

What a lovely hotel and host! She was very responsive and great location. When we needed to change our reservation, she went out of he way to go alive and beyond. Ajijic is a lovely town we have visited many times. They allow pets and that was a primary reason for or selection besides location in the center of town.

High touch service in a beautiful and relaxing boutique inn is what you get at Casa del Sol Inn. From the moment we arrived everything was taken care of including private round trip transfers from the airport. Elizabeth arranged for us to go horseback riding and we were picked up at the front door with the horses ready for our ride. The sumptuous breakfast will energize you for your daily exploration and activities. The portions were ample and we never needed lunch, just an early dinner. The hotel showcases artists’ paintings and sculptures. Another artist is Efra, the bartender, who makes a killer margarita and great conversation. The rooms have a huge shower, comfy beds and pillows, TV and WiFi. Just outside our room was a courtyard with a pool and beautiful wall of flowers attracting hummingbirds. You’ll feel like you’ve escaped to an oasis with lush tropical plants indoors and out. The rooftop terraces gave stunning views and quiet places to read, journal and nap. From pampering services including a rooftop massage and a lay down mani-pedi it was no problem. Elizabeth made appointments on our behalf. Like to golf? 5 minutes away is Chula Vista Country Club which is an experience not to be missed. The town of Ajijic is very walkable in sneakers and supportive sandals. Heels, including wedges aren’t recommended as the streets are literally made from stones. The trailhead to el Tepalo is nearby. Stroll lakeside on the malecón only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you’re a foodie, appreciate peace and quiet and like art this is an excellent hotel for you!

One of the best vacations I've ever had! And Elizabeth, the hands-on owner of Casa del Sol, had much to do with it. She graciously shared her encyclopedic knowledge of all things Ajijic, whether suggesting great restaurants or a fantastic tour guide. The hotel was beautiful. Scores of plants, trees and flowering shrubs; art works woven in among the greenery; lovely rooms, some with balconies and table and chairs; a delicious breakfasts included daily, plus a great Sunday brunch. I was made to feel welcome by all who worked at the perfectly named Casa del Sol. Thank you!

Both my wife and I loved staying at Casa del Sol. Loved the breakfast which as more than we could eat, the pool was very comfortable and there was ice in the community freezer. The staff was friendly and we felt very welcomed. Our room #2 was on the street but was very quiet and away from the afternoon sun. It is close to the Jardin and several good quality restaurants just a few blocks away. I am very observant when visiting BnB's as I have one in Mexico that has been rated in the top 1% "Best of the Best" for 5 years so do trust my review as someone with expiernce in BnB's.

We had a great experience, this is very nice place, excellent location in downtown Ajijic, service of all staff was magnificent, the place is very clean, the breakfast is delicious and of good quality, I love the detail of the complimentary drinks, definitely we will be back soon!
