The Source Hotel Music & Spa

We were really looking forward to our stay in Marrakesh as a much-needed family break. My wife had just come out of hospital, and as a family of six with three young children, it had been an incredibly stressful time. We booked this hotel six months in advance, and even followed up three weeks prior to our trip. At that point, the hotel confirmed everything was in place and even sent us videos of the room – all seemed fine. Shockingly, just one week before we were due to travel, the hotel contacted us to say they could no longer honour our booking. They had accepted a private booking instead – despite us having already paid a deposit and received confirmation. To make matters worse, they offered no alternative accommodation, no compensation, and showed very little concern for the stress this caused. Their only suggestion was that we change our dates – completely ignoring the fact we’d already booked non-refundable flights from the UK months ago. What was meant to be a relaxing break has turned into a scramble to find last-minute accommodation, with added pressure on our family during what was already a difficult time. I would urge others to think carefully before booking. In our experience, this hotel was unreliable, unprofessional, and showed no accountability for their actions.

We stayed at The Source for 2 nights in April 2025. We are a family of 6 and booked 3 twin rooms. The first thing to say about the hotel, is that it is obviously owned by someone, or by a group of people, who know what quality looks like. The hotel looks exactly like the photos, It is a boutique hotel with some fantastic touches and facilities. The buildings, the pool, the Spa, and the gardens, are all fantastic. Tasteful, well designed, and incredibly well maintained. However, in stark contrast to the appearance, the management of this hotel is very very poor. I would summarise it by saying that the guest services team is a. absent, b. takes no ownership for the client experience, and c. lacks any empathy for what a client may expect when booking and staying in a property like this one. As soon as we checked in, there were clues all around that the management was not engaged in the client experience. We saw guests being poorly served and becoming frustrated, numerous gaps in the organisation, some of which were explained away by the fact that the hotel 'had just hosted a wedding', and an on-site team that looked tired and disinterested. The biggest challenge with our own stay, was the checkout. We were leaving early for a 10.50am flight, and discussed the arrangements with the reception the day before. Highly Recommend – Amazing Staff and Atmosphere We had a wonderful stay at the source during our trip through Morocco. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A special thank you to Ziad, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere and great amenities. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay.

Unreliable place!! We booked and paid in full 6 months before going. 2 weeks before departure they simply told us that they did not have our room and that they were going to give us a lower cost one without reimbursing the difference. We tried to understand and they told us that because the prices of the rooms had gone up they would not honor the difference!! They then proceeded to cancel our reservation without our permission. It was terrible!! Do not got there!! Or you may end up without a room

The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warmth and hospitality truly enhanced my experience. Lovely spot outside of the city centre. It's quiet and peaceful with well tended gardens and a beautiful outdoor pool and terrace. There are cats and dogs that happily live in the hotel grounds. We had drinks on the roof terrace, which was lovely and gave a great sunset view. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. I found it tricky at first to locate my room. The rooms are all nicely spaced out, but they don't have door numbers outside them, so you need to memorise where your room is, which I didn't realise at first.
