We had two experiences of nkhila lodge.... both superb. First experience upon booking... logistics in Morocco can be fun, trying to piece all the experiences together. When I booked with nkhila lodge i got my confirmation immediately and replied to ask some questions. The speed of response and help was amazing. helped me sort all the taxi and activity details. It made it very easy. When we arrived we were blown away... the location is stunning and the staff were warm and welcoming. After a fun camel ride we relaxed as the sun went down watching breathtaking views of the light on the hills and mountains. Then a yummy dinner by the fire. The luxury family tent was amazing... definitely book the balcony option it's so worth it. We loved it

Just get it booked! We are a family of four staying at the Aqua Mirage in Marrakesh for two weeks and booked Nkhila Lodge directly with them through their website. From start to finish they couldn’t do enough to help, they organised our taxis from the hotel, mind blowing quad biking, a fabulous lunch, dinner and breakfast prepared fresh on site and then a camel ride from our luxury tent. Badr looked after us so well and nothing was too much bother. The lodges really are luxurious with a toilet, shower, super king bed and two singles, however our boys slept on the balcony underneath the most amazing stars. We really can’t believe this is 40 minutes from Marrakesh, it really is mind blowing.

Based on our experience at Nkhila Lodge, it is hard to believe that there are any bad reviews whatsoever for this business. One thing to keep in mind when staying at a place like Nkhila: you are in the middle of a friggin' desert! In particular, it is at least a 30 minute fairly arduous drive to the next village of any reasonable size. So, the fact that there are 20 or so items on the lunch/dinner menu is incredible in and of itself. So, first, our family of 4 stayed 2 nights at the lodge. The staff greeted us upon arrival, provided and provided some snacks and water in their "reception" tent. They were very accommodating, professional, and polite, during the entire visit. In fact, despite the fact that we were the only family there the second night (apparently, only slightly insane Texans want to be in the desert in July), there were 5-6 staff members on duty most of the time. The tents are comfortable, with a very "modern" bathroom and shower, electricity and Wifi, unbelievably. A word about the meals: yes, they do take a while to be prepared, and we were told this in advance. However, (a) the meals seems to be made essentially from scratch, with several people working in a small, hot kitchen. And (b), please recall that you are in the middle of a desert!! In any case, the free breakfast, and all the other meals were very good. We did two of the offered activities: a one hour camel ride, and the Agafay quad biking. The camel ride is a simple affair, but a fun experience. The quad biking is run by a third party (as far as we can tell), whose base is more or less "down the road." This organization is *very* well run and professional. The manager is friendly and safety oriented, and our young tour guide was awesome! He was very attentive to everyone's needs, and also took a cool long video of us (with our phone) as we rode behind him up and down dunes. This experience is highly recommended! Finally, a word about the area. Apparently there are only 3 lodges/camps on this side of the Agafay desert. The other side apparently has many more, some of which are higher end "spas." One great thing about the relative lack of camps on this side is that you really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. So, if you want a slightly more authentic and isolated desert experience, this is the one for you.

Having just returned from a 2 night stay, I cannot recommend avoiding this place strongly enough. The staff were horrendous. Our shower didn't work in the room. The staff spent several hours inside our room attempting to fix it (whilst we were trying to relax - there is nowhere else to go at the lodge). They continually said it was fixed but each time I had to go back to tell them it still didn't work. At one point, they actually came down at breakfast (embarrassingly amongst other guests) and marched me back up to the room accusing me of lying about the shower not working. They never said sorry or offered any kind of compensation for the significant inconvenience. What's more, the resort is still a building site, clearly not finished and definitely definitely not worth the significant price. They were drilling and sawing throughout the day further ruining the relaxing vibe they advertise. There are many better places to stay in Agafay. FYI - I emailed the hotel management to explain what happened before writing this review. They never replied. My partner spoke to them on the phone, they dismissed our issues in much the same way as the staff.

The spot is amazing and the staff as well . however we had a shower issue ( neither cold nor hot water) the manager did his best but didn’t solve the problem. Worst, he reported it as solved when it wasn’t . For a 220 € per nights it’s outrageous. For the dinner, each day it’s a menu not a lot of choices, specially when you are out of nowhere you may starve. They have a pu mic toilet where the water pressure is below expectations that it’s useless . We booked via a plateforme where I choose to pay at the lodge, they tried to debit my card 5 hours before arriving. No bill was given since we payed on site .
