Uday Backwater Resort

Really enjoyed our stay here. The roads to the resort are small and crowded but that's because it's right on the lakeside with it's own jetty. There's a lovely looking reception with a Buddha statue and a small bridge which leads to the bedroom complex and the pool. Our bedroom was really nice with a balcony looking over the lake. Very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Very efficient air conditioning which is a must as it was very hot and humid. Unfortunately this meant that there were more mosquitoes than other parts of Kerala but some bug spray helped when we went out for a walk in the evening. The restaurant is really nice with the option of an a/c room, or sitting under the fans. As there wasn't much breeze, we chose the a/c room which was really good. There was a wide range of food choices from the a la carte menu and the dishes were not expensive. Inclusive breakfast was lovely with a chai/coffee station, fresh omlettes and masa dosa made on request. Lots of fruit and service was quick. The best thing we did was go on the sunset cruise in a shikara (small passenger boat) which was included in our package. We had an hour on the lake with just two of us onboard and the sunset was really beautiful. There were some really nice staff here and special thank you's have to go to Kavya on reception, Sulekha (Guest Services Advisor) and Prasanth who is the food and beverages manager. All of these people were willing to go above and beyond, but most importantly, took time to chat with us about what they do and how to make our holiday more enjoyable. Would defnitely come back to this resort, but maybe when it's not so hot.

Stayed for one night after a bad experience in a nearby resort. What a difference in this property. Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Wonderful food and beautiful location. Would definitely come back for another stay. Highly recommended

Everything was good. Service was excellent. The staff here are very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and their approach towards kids is also very nice. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely choose the same place if we visit again

The hotel is amazing, the food here also great and cooperative staff. We are happy by choosing this hotel for our stay. Overall happy to stay here. Here they also have many activities which is also interesting and amazing overall environment is great.

Very nice environment, we had a pleasant stay. Staffs are very polite and helpful . The room was clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and spacious environment. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast, which was a nice touch.

The atmosphere was great and well maintained and it was interesting place to stay , well served. Everything was good but it's just the path is extremely narrow which made it difficult. Otherwise it would be wonderful and it was a peaceful trip.
