WOW WOW WOW – where do we even begin?! My wife and I are on a journey of healing and spiritual awakening (cue the mystical background music). We needed a place to unplug, recharge, and tap into our higher selves. After what felt like a lifetime of scrolling the internet, I asked the universe to guide me to the perfect spot. And just like that—poof!—Oma Cancun Holistic Healing Center appeared at the top of my search. Coincidence? I think not. From the moment we reached out, everything was smooth and easy. The team answered all our (many) questions, and booking was a breeze. We even pre-scheduled some of their incredible healing services, which turned out to be some of the most transformative experiences of our lives. We arrived around 5ish on Friday and were greeted by Oma, the wonderful mother of the owner. She told us her real name, but our pronunciation skills were questionable at best, so she kindly let us call her Oma—which we LOVED! Then there was Romaine, a volunteer from France, who made us the best quesadilla with black beans I have ever had in my life. I still dream about it. Now, let’s talk accommodations. The rooms are beautiful and clean, but let’s be clear—you’re in the jungle, people! This is not your cookie-cutter five-star resort. We stayed in Casa Piedra, and it was fantastic! Hot water? Check. Great water pressure? Check. A bed that was a bit firm for us fluffy Americans? Also check—but hey, we didn’t come here to sleep, we came to heal! The mini bar had everything we needed—water, soda, beer, and seltzers—all at super reasonable prices. We may or may not have sampled them all… for research purposes, of course. Now for the real magic—THE SERVICES. My wife and I had a healing massage together, and let me tell you, this was not your average “let’s loosen those knots” kind of deal. My wife had Christina, a powerful, wise, and incredibly loving shaman, who worked with her energy in ways that are beyond words. I had a massage therapist who incorporated Reiki, and it was next-level amazing. From there, we floated (literally, I think we were weightless at this point) into the Sound Healing session. Have you ever felt like your soul was being sung back to life? That’s what this was. The sound healer shared her story and played her bowls like she was weaving magic into the air. Pure bliss. Then came David, another shaman, who sat with us, listened to us, and shared some of his own journey. It wasn’t just a session—it was a connection. Healing through shared experiences. And then… the grand finale: the Temazcal ceremony. If you’ve never done this, ask yourself: why not?! This was intense, transformative, and deeply spiritual. It’s one of those things you don’t just experience—you become a part of it. Let’s talk food. If you’re looking for Michelin-star dining, this might not be your place. But if you’re looking for food that nourishes your body and soul, look no further. Oma’s eggs? Legendary. Chilaquiles? Life-changing. Homemad
