Utopia

So we stayed here for 4 nights in April 2023 having read the mixed reviews which quite frankly don’t make sense. Staff are really friendly, place is spotless and they cleaned our rooms every day. Pool is huge albeit not heated but hey. Continental breakfast muesli, fresh fruit, yoghurt, different milks, lovely fresh bread, ham, cheese, jams. 6+ restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Padel courts on site - we loved our stay - special thanks to Oli who was a star. Fab beaches within 10 minute drive we do recommend a car

Need to improve the breakfast. The variety of food is too low and the quantity is good. Great room, very big and wonderful bed. Great shower. Parking near by. WiFi works good. A very quiet place even with a public sports place near by. (Tennis or squash court, I do not know).

I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights last May to spend some holidays in August with the family and paid a deposit of 525€. The day before the arrival I phoned the house to inform I was going to arrive a bit late and the surprise was that my reservation was not plugged into the system. They excused saying that there were several people working at the reception but they ruined my holidays. I was offered a phone number of a person to rent a house for 3 days and free use of the pool that I didn't use. The worst thing is that after more than 10 calls I am still waiting to have my deposit back!!. Even telling me by phone that it was going to happen in few days, it never came. Last week I wrote my last mail to them informing I was taking legal actions for misappropriation of money, and to inform about this case to the Portuguese Tourism Associations. Watch out in case you book in this house!

Stay away from it, unacceptable behavior of Utopia Guest House and Booking. We are traveling as four adults on a tour of Portugal by car. I had booked two nights (Aug. 19-21) for this facility through Booking and received confirmation of acceptance on July 10. On August 17 (two days before arrival and in the middle of high season) I receive a communication from Utopia telling me that my reservation is canceled due to overbooking.... No other explanation, no alternative solution, simply canceled reservation and make do. Booking, equally unacceptable, writes to me proposing an alternative at a slightly higher cost at a property about 20 miles from the one originally booked. Once I attempt to book, it no longer has availability of the accommodation. The second booking proposal is at an even more distant facility, completely different from my original booking and with bunk beds (for 4 adults). "Booking", however, is generous (as well as imaginative) and "after writing to me that I did not accept their proposals...." (which ones?) offers to assess a refund of 25 euros at the source of the exhibition of receipts for expenses incurred (which it reserves the right to assess). If you are not professional, it is better to devote yourself to something else.

We had high hopes but it sadly did not live up to our expectations. Interior is in a nice style at advertised but was overall quite cold (in February), which heating could not really help with (especially bathroom without heating). It is also not sound proofed at all and even though other guest weren't noisy you heard quite loudly them coming back at night etc. Breakfast is also not just basic but nearly not "existing" some bread, marmalade, cornflacks and milk - definitely no recommendations to pay for if you can avoid it. Also no mask from staff, not even while preparing / restocking the buffet - therefore also mone of the guest cared which made everything quite unhygienic. Quite a difference to the rest of Portugal during that time were we always felt save. Service 5/10 Location 7/10 Breakfast 5/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Room/Facilities 8/10 Price Value 7/10 (€62 in Feb)

Em viagem pela costa vicentina ficamos hospedados uma noite, fácil acesso, estacionamento no exterior com facilidade e não pago, amigos de cais e gatos que por ali circular repletos de alegria. Facilidade de entrar com bicicletas. Piscina de 25m generosa para boas braçadas. Peque o almoço ok. Quarto limpos e com boa aparência
