The best food I have eaten in Kerala, so far (8 days): Had the sambaram, which is a lassi with onion and ginger. yes, sounds strange, but it's cool and fresh yet biting. For those who don't shy away from a fresh onion, do try. Also had a fish molly - i think it's in coconut milk with green slightly spicy pepper, tomato, and, I think, black cardamon. It was excellent. the scene is also nice. You sit on a rooftop above the sand and there is even a bar on the periphery of the roof and you can sit there and watch the sea. I saw a few other travelers there that seemed to enjoy their food very much.
