This experience with Holiday Inn was quite poor. In fact, it was like pulling teeth. I’m surprised they have a high rating online. I always look for hotels with air conditioning which was advertised in their listing and we booked the room accordingly. After checking in and turning the A/C on we fell asleep only to be awoken to a room which was much hotter than it started as. We checked the thermostat again - definitely on the cool setting and at full blast. The front desk was unable to provide a room with working A/C and on top of that refused to refund us. I am very heat intolerant and we moved to another hotel. When you don’t provide an amenity as advertised but slavishly adhere to your cancellation policy, you just are not providing customer service in line with most hotel standards today. I think when there is a major problem, you should be willing to resolve it with the guest.
