Aloe Boutique Hotel & Suites - Adults Only

Just returned from a week here at the Aloe Boutique and Suites. This is a mixed review, some very good and some not so good, but honest and I think fair. Starting with the good, met at the coach drop off point by a lovely gentleman (forgot to get his name) who took us to check in and carried our bags to the room explaining everything to us. Lovely helpful lady on reception Anelia - nothing too much trouble, very friendly, knowledgible and professional. Housekeeping is great, rooms very clean at all times, linen and towels spotless, even fresh flowers and a platter of snacks for us on our arrival. The whole hotel was modern, clean and tasteful. Breakfast was nice with a variety of foods which whilst there was the standard fare there was also additional items every day. Fabian (I know he has been mentioned before) was GREAT - a true ambassador for the hotel, helpful, friendly, efficient and thank goodness he was a waiter in the restaurant as -I don’t know how it would have functioned without him, there seemed to be no supervision. Now for the not so good. The rest of the waiting staff did not appear to have any sense of what they were supposed to do, they left tables uncleared, had no sense of urgency, delivered the wrong drinks and when we explained that the food at dinner was not of the quality we expected in a 5star hotel they gave us a voucher for a free beverage each. We were on a half board basis and in most hotels you can choose to have either lunch or dinner - the lunch menu had a selection that was more to our liking so we asked if we could have lunch rather than dinner - the answer was no, dinner only, therefore we tried two times to see if second meal was better but it wasn’t, so we ate out at other places in the village. I would recommend not bothering with half board there are plenty of other places that are happy with your business, serving fresh authentic or other cuisines. In a country with such variety of fresh items you would not expect to be served frozen potato wedges on a board with cubes of chicken, pitta bread and runny unflavoured yoghurt but that was one meal, another issue was the soffrito served rather than being tender and moist was small, hard and overcooked - not what was expected. We did raise this with the waiting staff but they were not interested, or did not know what to do. We also found that the soundproofing between rooms was poor - you could hear everything from next door, not just the normal doors closing etc, but the conversations that on occasion should have remained private - not sure what they can do about that though.

Just returned from a relaxing week away in Almyrida a quiet village in the chania region , not the liveliest resort but this hotel made our visit worthwhile . The transfer was late at night but the night attendant met us at our drop off point to take us to the hotel because the coach was too big for narrow streets , this was the first of many touches the aloe boutique went to , to make sure you had a great experience there from the attentive waiting on staff , special mention to Fabian excellent service provided and the endlessly working cleaning staff kept it to a high standard . We went on a bed and breakfast deal of which there was plenty to chose from all freshly cooked or if you wanted fruit plenty to select from , we had a few snacks from the menu for lunch and once again really nice and reasonably priced , pint of draught beer was €6 and as we had a late return flight we were able to keep our room on for an extra €40 for late check out (6pm) we would definitely encourage family & friends to visit if it’s a relaxing holiday at this adults only hotel they were looking for ,thank you all for a wonderful stay .

We have just returned after spending 2 weeks at this lovely hotel , it was our second time, we came back because we loved it last year, it was even better this year, the staff are all so friendly and helpful, they kindly left us a bottle of prosecco in the room to welcome us back which was a nice touch. The room was lovely although we did prefer our room last year, only because of the stairs and having to get up numerous times during the night!! Other than that it was faultless. The food in the restaurant has greatly improved since last year too, there was some entertainment a few times a week including a greek night . We spent our time between the pool and the beach which was a very short walk away, A lovely relaxing holiday, we will definitely be back xx

We’ve just returned home from a beautiful 5 nights stay at this spotless hotel. The staff can’t do enough for you at this hotel they always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The two men working on reception were always so friendly, thank you! We celebrated my birthday and were given complimentary Prosecco to the room which was so kind. We had the most beautiful sea view. Breakfast at the hotel is delicious, pastries, coffee, fresh omelette and the Greek yoghurt and honey is so nice. The breakfast staff are also wonderful. The lovely lady who cleaned our room everyday, you work so hard thank you so much. Almyrida is a quiet village, the beach is directly across the road. I’ve never seen such clear sea water it was so beautiful. There are a long row of restaurants outside the hotel, we loved the Atlantis beach, Elia & Thyme. We also liked going into chania old town which took around 30mins in a taxi or 45mins on the bus. We went here on the Saturday/Sunday nights and the atmosphere was great.

This is our second visit to the hotel and we love it! We always feel so relaxed here, the hotel is not too big but has great facilities and a nice vibe! The quality and choice of food at breakfast and dinner is very good. What makes it so special is the service from all the staff, who are all so attentive and helpful. Special shout out to Roman for all his food and drink advice, Yota for her service with a smile, Fabian at breakfast, the chef who made the lovely omelettes for my wife and the lady who always brought our coffee in the morning (Catarina?). Not forgetting Romylia the restaurant manager and finally the cleaner, who left our room so immaculate every day! We will be looking to return next year!

This is the most beautiful boutique hotel. I was sceptical of the reviews before we stayed, but they’re all accurate. It’s exceptionally clean, well maintained, and the staff are so polite, helpful and professional. They were always on hand, delivering water melon to the poolside and bringing drinks and snacks at the touch of a button to our sunbeds! Our ‘sharing pool suite’ was perfect for us; we spent lovely mornings and late evenings sitting by the pool, it was lovely for a quick dip, and there was a bigger pool just round the corner. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, drinks at the bar were reasonably priced, as was the evening dinner menu. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We were very impressed by the ‘late departure’ service, allowing us to leave our luggage, use all the hotel amenities and even use the designated shower facilities, when it was our time to leave. There was no rush, the staff really couldn’t do enough for you. I would return to the Aloe in a heartbeat.
