Premier Inn Alnwick

We stayed at the Premier Inn in Alnwick. Don’t be put off entering the industrial estate that the premier inn is on . Just follow the signage. The hotel is very quiet staff are really friendly and it is near lots of supermarkets. Aldi. Marks and Spencer foodhall and Turnballs who do amazing large takeaway Breakfast baps starting at £3.20 and takeaway breakfast s for £5 and hot lunches. Well recommended and only 2 mins away. Ps. Alnwick shopkeeper have the best Christmas shop windows that I have seen in ages.

Excellent location Very friendly and helpful staff as we have an autistic child who has a limited diet they were helpful with providing hot milk for us breakfast etc... Would definitely go back. With shops close by as in walking distance I would definitely go back

First off...It wasn't bad. By any means. It was...fine? And I hate to write a vaguely negative review as I've worked in the service/hospitality industry and I know it's often a thankless job for low pay... but still, some basic things were really neglected. I think main issue was basic staff training seemed to be lacking as well as...basic...just basic stuff really. Not enough to complain and cause an issue but just smacked of a lack of attention to detail. I've done housekeeping and waitressing so I know hotels are normally understaffed and you never have enough time to do it all but still...There are some basics that should be done. The room was pretty standard and did the job but also lacking in some areas. - The sheets did not fit either bed, ending about 3 inches before the end of the mattress. Not the end of the world but for the price paid, you'd think the linen would fit! - Floor 100% not hoovered, found several bobby pins and plastic tags in plain view when we came in. - Bath full of hair so had to rinse it before use. Bit gross. As mentioned, both myself and the other person with me have been waitresses (as most of us have I imagine) and we found the night we had dinner to be hilarious, as well as watching the same at breakfast. I'd say staff training is needed, or...something. We were greeted by an older, dark haired waitress at the podium who seemed rather more interesting in talking to other staff than any guests in the dining room. We were seated and left for a good fifteen minutes, during which time we had great fun watching a younger blonde waitress and a younger waiter work the room...The young man was an expert at looking busy but doing nothing and seemed to be magnetically drawn to the bar (to hide I assume as it was hardly to do drinks) or else scanning the ceiling (to avoid seeing plates on tables). The blonde waitress seemed to be doing most of the work, which maybe explains why she was rather blunt with customers. We had to laugh, it was just so awful. There was no customer service voice or tone at all...It was full on "Are you done?" snapped at customers or when clearing plates, "Pudding?" We could hardly wait for her to come back to our table to see what would be barked at us next. So while it was very grim and not suitable, we did at least enjoy the comedy of it all! The food was...okay? Nothing to write home about and pretty over priced for what it was really. I'd recommend not eating here unless you have to. You can get a lovely meal in town for less and with more charm...or basic manners. Still, maybe worth a go for the sheer hilarity of the service! Breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel; what was meant to be hot wasn't even after being under a light for hours but you expect that and we're not fussy so no complaints really there.
