Pestana Alvor Beach Villas

This place is heaven, lovely quiet complex and so clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal just a minute from the beach and a lovely walk on the boardwalk into Alvor. The staff at reception were very help but a special word of thanks to Lourdes for being so nice.

We stayed in villa 49, which was a 2 bed/3 bathroom villa. Accommodation was fine but the smell from the drains in the bathrooms made the villa smell horrible. The ants were veracious and no matter what we did they just kept coming back into the villa in droves. We even found them in the fridge! It was most off putting and we had to put everything in sealed plastic bags otherwise it was attacked by the ants. The kitchen was too dark, no symbols on the microwave/oven to advise whether we had turned on grill/ microwave or oven. No fan or light for the hob so it became hot when we cooked. No frying pan, could only cook basic food. Pool for the villas/apartments was quieter and a nice size but in need of some maintenance. Umbrellas were rusty and broken, beds not as comfortable as the hotel and the pool could do with a refurb. They use salt not chlorine which is really strong and hurts eyes… goggles required! Quiet in the morning but gets busy after lunch. Can use hotel pool but this gets very busy and is smaller than the apartment pool. Staff friendly and helpful, however, no action taken when I reported the issues about villa 49. Location is excellent. Just off the beach, the boardwalk takes you to lovely restaurants. Try windsurf and O’Canterio. Would return to Alvor but not here unless it has a refurbishment.

This is a lovely place for a quiet holiday. The villa and adjacent hotel are wonderful. Very clean and well kept. Easy access to the town via the boardwalk along the beach. The hotel has all the facilities that you would need and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I've stayed in the Prestana Beach Villa's with a group of friends, highly recommended it. Spacious & clean in an excellent location beside the boardwalk & beach. It was fantastic to be able to you the hotel pool & snack bar too. The staff were so friendly & helpful will return.

We have stayed in the Pestana Dom Joao for the last 5 years either in the Hotel or the Villas . Our daughter decided to come with us at last minute so we were thrilled when we got a free upgrade to a 2 bedroomed villa . The staff at the Villa reception were so nice and accommodating . . The villas are kept spotless they def could do with an upgrade in the garden villas but the studio ones with sea view are fabulous and modern so big also . We saw these as our in laws were staying in one of these. They are just outside the gate of the Dom Joao hotel grounds but very near and you have access to everything in the hotel grounds. We love it here as so peaceful and chilled . Thanks again to the lovely staff who are so professional and welcoming .

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment & the location was perfect, just across the lawn to the lovely big swimming pool with direct access to the boardwalk & beach. The apartment was nice but the kitchen area definitely needs updating We were impressed with the daily housekeeping & the friendly, helpful reception staff. Only a 15 minute stroll into Alvor along the boardwalk. Access to the neighbouring hotel facilities which was a bonus. Area was quiet through the day & night. Would certainly recommend.
