Porta del Mar Beach Resort

We have just returned from the most beautiful holiday at Porta del Mar. It perfectly combines luxury and authenticity. It is family run and everyone works so hard to ensure you have the best experience possible. We have 2 small children and it was so wonderful to experience such a beautiful part of the world together. It’s a world away from your standard package holiday which is exactly what we wanted. The pool is stunning with a smaller shallower pool next to it which was perfect for our 2 year to splash around in. There is a small beach at the bottom of the cliff and you can walk across to a slightly larger beach through the shallow sea which was fun! There is also a lovely Taverna above the larger beach which does traditional Greek food should you wish to have a bit of a change but the food and drink at Porta del mar is also wonderful and we enjoyed mixing it up a bit. The sea is crystal clear and warm! The area is quiet and you can walk in to a slightly busier area in about 10-15mins but it’s still quiet and not too touristy. We loved that we were away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist resort as we always find these areas disappointing and lacking in the beauty of the traditional and authentic Greece but at Porta del Mar and around we felt we could take in Greece in all its beauty with an added touch of luxury! We hired a car on one day and the owner sorted it all for us totally hassle free. We went to a water park and then to Zakynthos old town and it was great to explore knowing we had our beautiful sanctuary to return to. The scenery is breath taking and the whole place is just magical. A truely special experience. Thank you to everyone at Porta del Mar for a holiday to remember forever xXx

Excellent location with breaktaking view of the turquoise sea. Very professional and friendly staff. Good breakfast included. All meals were superb and daily specials made it interesting. Vast selection of wine, local and other. We hired the private villa with pool Epitome and it was absolutely amazing! Decor is superb and daily maid service meant everything stayed very clean. Pool attended to daily before you even wake up! We enjoyed massages by the sea (they simply did not last long enough and we could have laid there for hours!) and we enjoyed a very informative wine tasting experience with Kostas. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about this resort. The location is great, quiet peaceful and on the beach were the sea is so calm and beautiful. Our tip would be - take a boat tour to the Blue Caves and Shipwreck beach in a private speedboat for 5 persons- very good value for money and the stop off beaches for swimming are absolutely gorgeous. We can't wait to return....

Wow! What an amazing place! We have just retuned from a fabulous 5 night stay at Porta Del Mar. We visited for my sisters wedding. I found Porta Del Mar when originally looking for venues for my sisters wedding. As the wedding planner I exchanged numerous emails with the owners Tasos and Myrto, both of whom were excellent and answered all my questions. The location did not disappoint! We hired out all the accommodation and every one of the guests had a wonderful time. The accommodation is beautiful, myself and my family (husband and 2 daughters) had the two bedroom apartment, which had wonderful views and was close to the swimming pool. Our room was perfect and large enough so that we could all get ready together on the morning of the wedding. All the staff were lovely, and worked so hard to make my sister's day special. The food in the restaurant was amazing, our only regret is we didn't eat there more often throughout our stay! The beach was lovely and we spent a lot of time down there, the canoe and SUP provided were lovely touches and were well used by our family. All that is left to say is thank you so much to everyone at Porta Del Mar, you were wonderful!

Really a lovely place. Every morning breakfast with a most fantastic view. In the evening same view but with totally different colours becaus of the sunset. But what really makes the difference are the people who are running this place. They make you feel special and will do anything to give you wonderful memories.

Most beautiful place ever seen. I’ve never had such a feeling, like in a luxury retreat. Rooms, complex, pool, sea and the nice family hosts make it an unforgettable vacation. The food and the wine is extraordinary.

Very nice hotel! The rooms were clean, the food was good, the views were nice (sunrise and sunset were both visible over the ocean from the hotel which was very beautiful!) and all the staff were very friendly! We got a lot of help from Myrto with recommendations for fun activities we wanted to do on our holiday, but honestly everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, definitely would recommend this place!
