Amsterdam Hostel Orfeo

The most horrible person I have ever met. Arrogant and agresive. Was trying to attack me with other people around me teying to show he ia big man. Dont know his name left soon he started booked else where. Dangerous place and person. Do not recommend to anyone.

I arrived to this hostel because I had a performance gig and it was the closest place to the venue. It was a last minute reservation booking through the hostelworld app. When I arrived with all my stuff, I realized that I forgot my passport. Dumb move, I get it. They refused to let me stay. Annoying, but fine. A shower and a place to put my two suitcases would have been nice before going on stage after 12 hours of travel. No time to argue about it. Someone suggested I show them a photo of my passport. After my gig I went back. "Sorry. It's after midnight and I can't do anything about it. I can book you for tomorrow." Doesn't help. Okay. I tried. I only have enough money in the account for a night in a room and some food to eat, but I'm spending it on a cab to a friend's art studio to sleep. Wake up to find out they charged me for the night anyway. I called them to say I never stayed there and they said I need to read their cancelation policy before booking. I tried to reason with the guy and say "look I get that you wouldn't let me in because I forgot my id, but don't take the last of my money when I didn't even sleep there." He said "well then call the police. I don't have time for this." Screw these people. Screw this hostel. They don't deserve your business. There are other cheap hostels in the city.

Reasons why you should not go: - MOLD - BED BUGS - HORRIBLE customer service: I have never met someone so rude in my life (I wish I was exagerating) I beg you please don't book here, I cried talking to the receptionist because he was sooooo mean :((

IT was really nice, affordable and close to city centre. They've letted us inside few hours earlier, and even gave a free coffe on check out. Deffinitly coming back 😁

Hostel is eerie and high and narrow stairs. Not clean at all, the rooms are too small. I was in a room which included 3 beds in a bunk and there was only enough room for one person to stand up on the floor. I also wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re tall as the beds are tiny. On a very loud street so bring earplugs if you want some sleep.

The location of the hotel is great, the problem is the facility and the staff. The rooms are really small to the point that you can't move around and are full of dust. The bunk beds did not have a ladder to climb up and the mattresses are so thin that you can feel the hard togs in the bed. The staff is incredibly rude, when we tried to ask for directions to a pharmacy we were told to "google it," when we left crumbs on the table after making sandwiches and threw out all the scraps, we were called back very rudely to sweep the table thoroughly demanding cleanliness from us that they do not offer. These are just a few of the numerous rudenesses we received in 3 days. Experience to be forgotten, totally not recommended, also because it is absolutely not worth the cost it has.
