Hotel Sphinx

Hi this place is very bad it it’s not worth 580 dollars for three Nights at all the shower is very bad it’s either to hot or to cold. It’s to small the hair dryer barely works and no view and the bed sheets keep falling off.This place is a motel.Please don’t come here.

During my trip to Amsterdam, I opted to stay at the Budget Hostel Sphinx for one night, paying 150€ for the accommodation. However, I must say that my experience at this hotel was far from pleasant. I have attached some pictures that clearly demonstrate the disappointing condition of the walls and furniture, which were notably dirty. Even the chair had holes, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. I would rate the cleanliness of the room a mere 3 out of 10. The floor was gritty, and as I walked to the bathroom, I could feel sand underfoot. Although the bed sheets were clean, the overall state of the room left much to be desired. Neglected areas, such as the corner next to the bed, accumulated dirt, revealing a lack of attention to cleanliness. Another drawback was the hotel staff's lack of proactive assistance. I had to wait until 15.00 to check into my room, which wasn't the most welcoming start to my stay. Additionally, the hotel building itself was quite small, and the staircase was tiny. This may pose a challenge for older guests or those with mobility issues, as reaching their rooms might be very difficult. All things considered, I regret staying at Budget Hostel Sphinx and would advise others to explore alternative accommodation options in Amsterdam. A hotel of this standard is not worth the price, and I believe there are much better choices available in the city that would provide a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Owner, Fung, was absolutely nice! He understood what I was requesting and was generous enough to accommodate my need. The rooms are tiny and walls are thin, yes, but his kindness and awesome customer service just makes everything better! Location is great too! Walking distance from so many restaurants and shops. There’s even a supermarket at the corner. 1min way!

Abbiamo soggiornano all hotel per 6 notti di in cinque persone, tutto sommato il posto è carino, camera non troppo grande ma per qualche notte ci si può adattare, bagno un po’ piccolo e senza finestra, ma c’è la porta e chiude a chiave. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene personale gentile e accogliente. La posizione dell hotel è ottima , si trova tra le vie centrali di Amsterdam ed è molto bene collegato con i mezzi. Ottima esperienza!

Poco bueno tiene este hotel para ofrecer. Nuestra experiencia: La habitacion era en quinto piso por escaleras que de seguras tenian muy poco. La habitacion era una cama y una silla, literal, dimensiones 3 x 3, sumado a que al ser en el ultimo piso, el techo se nos venia encima. Limpieza, pobre o nula. Incluso al tercer dia (de cinco) fueron a cambiar las toallas y toallones, pero solo se los llevaron, no pusieron nuevos porque no tenian, cuando baje a solicitar, la empleada se reia, me respondio que me duche al dia siguiente y ante mi enojo me termino "consiguiendo" un toallon, para dos. El precio, suuuuper elevado, no se corresponde ni un poco con los servicios que prestan. Las paredes de carton, se escucha todo lo que pasa al lado.

Stiamo soggiornando da due giorni in questo hotel e l' esperienza è pessima. Camera al piano semi interrato al quale si accede tramite una scala a chiocciola ripida, stretta e pericolosa, specialmente per persone anziane e bambini, camera sporca, bagno senza una porta o perlomeno una tenda, camera e letto non rifatti né pulito, colazione se così si può chiamare, scarsissima e pessima, purtroppo, essendo arrivati il 1° giorno dell' anno senza prenotazione, ci siamo dovuti adattare, fortunatamente il nostro soggiorno terminerà tra 3 giorni. Certamente torneremo ad Amsterdam, meravigliosa città che merita un ritorno, ma mai più in questo hotel gestito da Cinesi che sconsiglio vivamente.
