We arrived in Andermatt, February 3rd, 2025, to spend the week at Alpenhotel Schlussel skiing. Thomas greeted us warmly and gave us some tips on the town so we could look around our first day. Unfortunately on the 5th, I was involved in a traumatic skiing accident that resulted in emergency surgery on our first day. Thomas was invaluable in helping us figure out how to get to the hospital (an hour away), and made sure our transportation was arranged for us. He kept in contact with my husband every day as I spent 3 days in the hospital and helped arrange my trip back to the hotel, and then to the airport. The hotel is adorable, everyone is so friendly and helped me get around when I came back on crutches. Breakfast was delicious and Thomas was there every morning to chat. We highly recommend the Alpenhotel and we will definitely go back someday, likely in the summer.

I stayed at Alpenhotel Schlüssel for 3 nights and I couldn’t be happier that I chose this hotel for my stay in Andermatt. It is located near the train station (5’ walk) (which is very convenient if you are travelling by train), in the middle of the town, walking distance to everything. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and made my stay there very pleasant. The rooms are renovated, very cozy and clean and the view was amazing. The hotel offers breakfast every morning with everything you need. The director/owner (Thomas) was always there to help and give advices on how to explore the area and was always friendly and smiling! Overall, I would definitely recommend it and I will definitely be back!

Very modern, comfortable. Very good beds and modern bathroom with a tub. Breakfast is a little limited, but adequate. Plenty of room for ski clothing. We appreciated the fridge. Service is easygoing and very friendly. Quiet, we could not hear any neighbors. The price is very reasonable.

Friendly hotel in the centre of town so all amenities within walking distance. Warm welcome. Car parking available for no charge. Rooms comfortable & clean. Love the duvet & pillows. Flat screen TV. Coffee machine. Modern bathroom (shower over bath) Balcony with tables & chairs - depending on which room allocated, depends on view. Breakfast is self service continental - good choice. Didn't give a discount card (which we had received at most hotels ) but received it when we went to tourist information just by railway station.

A very well run hotel, with plenty of covered parking, clean, large rooms, quiet, with breakfast actually included (where most hotels at which we stayed said "free breakfast" then informed you that it was $20 extra.). A hands-on owner is present and highly involved. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of items from which to choose. Very close to restaurants and bars, and only a couple miles from the best motorcycling and hiking in the world. Highly recommended.

Eight friends descended on Thomas the brilliant host at this hotel. Extremely helpful accommodating our motor bikes in his spacious garage Ideally situated and easy to find Our room was large immaculate and I have to say my favourite loo ever. !!!!! A light so you can find the place in the dark and other bits that you may have to find out for yourself. 😊 Breakfast was fresh and delicious served with a joyous young lady Overall top notch

The best thing about our stay in Andermatt was staying with Thomas and team at Alpenhotel Schlussel. The twin room was perfect, spacious, plenty of storage, and with a sunny balcony with expansive views to the mountains. The hotel looked recently renovated and exceptionally clean. The breakfast room on the top floor is attractive, with a good buffet offering. The ski storage room was secure with an excellent boot rack which did not overheat boots. From the map you can already tell it is in centre of the town, and maybe 10 minutes walk to train and both ski lifts. Thomas was always ready to help with local contacts and assistance when needed. Special thanks for that help.

We stayed four nights at the Alpenhotel Schlussel in Andermatt for four nights and had a great stay. The personal attention from the hotel owner, Thomas Kirchhübel, who was on site 24/7, was always available for questions and greeted us every morning at breakfast. Thomas was quite knowledgeable about the town of Andermatt, where to rent skis, the best restaurants, and where the skiing was the best. Also, we could tell the hotel had been completely renovated in the last few years, and everything was up-to-date. The hotel pictures on the website don't do the renovations justice!

Neat, clean, very central, great breakfast. Recently renovated. Very friendly service if any questions or issues. Thanks Thomas for the support with a late check out. Can only recommend this hotel. The only thing possibly missing would be a sauna after a long day in the mountains.
