Courtyard by Marriott Ann Arbor

The room is not well lited even i turn on all the lights in the room. There is no electric kettle for reboiling tap water. Not very suitable for people not used to drink cold tap water. Only 2 bottled water provided by the hotel no matter hiw long u stay. The staff didnt refill the bottled water. The location is quite far away from the center, u need take a bus for 30 minutes or walk by 1 hour. Also not of a good value for a hotel charge you nearly 150 usd per night

It was OK, but that's as far as I can go. Overall, what the place lacked was the warmth, cleanliness and welcome that one would expect. Our room was decent. It has a "cooler" but no microwave. The bathroom sink is located outside of the tub/toilet area, which was nice. Adequate counter space. But the beds and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. We did not get housekeeping services one day, and were left with dirty towels on the floor with no replacements, which we then asked for at the front desk.  The fitness room was not cleaned as dirty towels were strewn about the floor and equipment.   The complimentary coffee in lobby consisted of one caff and one decaf carafe, with 2 large pumps of Coffee Mate. (yuk!) The lobby cafe and bar was very overpriced ($26 for 3 medium coffees and $50 for 2 drinks!). We entertained some family in the lounge area, and had asked for the fireplace to be turned on to take the chill off the room and add some ambiance. We were told that the fireplace hasn't worked for 3 years! The lounge area had dirty cups and napkins and crumbs on the furniture and tables, which we cleaned up before we could sit down.

Comfortable and family friendly hotel close to short drives throughout the city. Kerrytown, UofM, downtown, and Briarwood Mall are all within 15 minutes away. The rooms are a little dated but the beds are cozy, soft and quiet. Amazing service with George who welcomed us, showed us around the hotel and was extremely helpful with any questions which we had. Also available was an accommodating hotel manager, Claudine, who made our stay stress free and easy.

I recently stayed at Courtyard Ann Arbor and had a disappointing experience. The elevator made a loud, high-pitched noise all night, and a wedding party caused constant disturbances, making it impossible to sleep. My calls to the front desk went unanswered, and when I finally spoke to someone in the morning, I was given the runaround with no resolution. These issues severely impacted my stay, and I was unable to rest properly. I hope the management addresses these problems to improve future guest experiences.

This was a good choice. The room was standard Marriott (poor lighting and all) with an ample parking lot. You will have to drive to the University or to downtown, but parking was not difficult in Ann Arbor (at least when we were there at the end of June). Marriott charges too much for breakfast in all their properties, but in this case there is a McDonald's right across the street and egg McMuffins are actually a treat.

Great stay. I was welcomed and status recognized. Most every staff member was friendly. Room was comfortable. The only thing I did not like was the room was a little dark. Ate one breakfast and one dinner in the bistro. Both very good. This was my second stay here and I will be back. .

It’s a good property in a safe neighborhood. Room was nice and clean. What the place lacked was the warmth and welcome one would expect, on being a Bonvoy Platinum Member for life. No breakfast and coffee that we are used to as a privilege we get elsewhere in Marriott properties.

We arrived late at the hotel and after checking into our room, my wife noticed the bathroom sink was full of water. The stopper handle was broken so the sink could be drained. So either the housekeeping staff didn't notice it (very bad) or the previous occupants of the room filled the sink, realize it couldn't be drained (or presumably fixed) and asked for another room, in which case the front desk guy knew about it (also very bad). My wife called down and the guy offered to put us in the only available remaining room. When he came up to give us a key for the new room, he didn't even ask to see and/or try fix the drain, leading me to believe option B is the most likely. Well, the remaining room smelled like an ashtray. Since we had no remaining options, we had to grin an bear it. My larger issue is that I'm currently a titanium member and a lifetime platinum member. I have stayed in probably 6 Marriott properties in the last 3 months and each time I wonder if my experience as a titanium member is any different from someone who has zero loyalty with Marriott. My conclusion is, it isn't. After literally a lifetime of loyalty to Marriott (and before that Starwood), it is time for a change.

Hotel was nice. Lobby area was modern and looked to be newly decorated. Room was nice. Good counter space in bathroom!! Excellent service - front desk was super friendly and we needed extra towels when daughter didn't realize plastic liner needed to be inside the tub for her shower (UGH) - they brought them right away which has hardly ever happened in other hotels!! But the beds were just not comfortable. King size bed was somewhat lumpy and the linens were sparse. The pull out sofa for my daughter was horrible! I sat down for a second and felt every single coil in the mattress!! To be fair - I've never seen a pull out sofa at a hotel that was actually comfortable, but thought it was bad enough to mention. May be worth staying at again if we got two queens instead of a king and pull out couch? Or, the reality is that when we go to visit next year, our daughter will also be in college and will likely not be coming with us. :-( So the pull out sofa may no longer be an issue for us... but if you are staying there and will be using the sofa, maybe get two queens instead!!
