We are used to 5* in Turkey, usually at The Residence Fethiye. At Nirvana this was definitely not a 5* experience. Not many English guests or English speaking staff. Unacceptable rooms, def not 5* star, service was the same. On arrival told to sit in reception with a cat on armchair, allergy to cats. Only shown around as far as lift to inside room. No showing where restaurants etc were and how they worked. Carpets in corridors filthy and stained. Room had no wow appeal. Balcony door broken, bell boy called reception and told technician coming up. Never arrived in the 8 days there. I am 5ft tall and had to climb inside wardrobe to reach rail. I could not see into magnified mirror in bathroom as 6ft high. Same with towel rail, could not reach towels. Not enough drawers in room, but enough space for them. Had to call room service to Complain floor was filthy, wet towels left on bed, quilt wasn’t big enough for bed and what on earth was the red strip light in floor. Not enough bright light in rooms. Food wasn’t too bad. Used buffet most days, did visit beach restaurant for sisters birthday, told we were going on her birthday but not open that day, so we went next day. Lunch was nice there. No one added me to their what’s app group that we had to use to book restaurants etc for 2 days, I just kept going and asking. When I did get added to the group I requested eating in the Italian, told no room in any of the a la cartes, so I filmed the restaurant between 9pm and 11pm and it had prob 2 or 3 tables booked out. My assistant was quite rude and basically said that’s what it is, no offer of another night. So my sister had put in a complaint about music about mixed pool, lots of children and music with bad swear words being played. She asked for Italian and guess what we got in. Lovely meal but as we were about to leave she opened her bad to get some money out to pass to my husband to use as tip, waiter who seemed to be in charge was in like a shot and took it out of her hand, it hadn’t cleared her handbag when he took it. Fashion show was on 2 evenings,we were never invited, lots of outsiders and they took the tables and some of the high stools from customers bar to accommodate these. Yes hotels WOW as you walk in but from that moment on it went downhill.
