Hotel le Ponteil

Absolutely horrible and rude owners with literally no help whatsoever after 8pm. My sister and I forgot our key in our room and therefore went to the reception to get a spare key, but no one was there and the owners didn’t pick up the phone or have any way to contact them (we even tried knocking on the door where the owners lived). Because of this my sister and I had to sleep on the ground of the building since there was no way for us to get in our room. When I went to the reception in the morning to explain the situation the owner completely dismissed me and was extremely arrogant and rude. When we came back later for our luggage after being at the beach all day we politely asked if we could use their bathroom to change clothes, but the owner refused and told us to leave immediately while the other owner mocked us by yelling “bye bye danish, bye bye” over and over. The rooms were nice but not very much privacy. Would not recommend staying here as the staff is incompetent and rude.

It is NOT the same as it was when the Swedish couple owned it. The garden is not at all as nice and well taken care of and the plastic garden pots and furnitures is terrible. It was much more "Provence" before im affraid. The breakfast is terrible- that use to be so lovely and with homemade musli and jam.

Disappointing, I was given a family room in the car park , dehumidifier running, black mould in the grout surrounding the bath tub. grubby shower curtain .yuk . White bedsheets that were grey, duvet had no cover ..Then water coming up through floor of bathroom . Received a refund and moved hotels . The new hotel was clean , charming and the owner was the kindest and most thoughtful gentleman , who fully understood that the beginning of my holiday had started badly

So I changed the hotel after one night. Although I had booked for more. This is a guesthouse. My room was old, tiny, super loud and a bit smelly. It is a joke, my student room back in Uni days wa nicer. My matress must have been old as well. It felt really unpleasant and uber soft! The hosts a welcoming, but this place feels weird. It needs a proper renovation. I would never ever recommend this. It is a shame and I really dont understand what other reviewers find positive. Breakfast is typically frensh.

This small family hotel is located in a quiet road near to the beach and only a very short walk from the centre of Antibes - a perfect spot to stay. The owners are delightful and go out of their way to make visitors' stays as welcoming and comfortable as possible. Breakfast (extra) is very good and is served in the small garden. Everything is kept very clean. The rooms are adequate but not large and ours had a strange metal contraption in one corner for storage and hanging - functional but not beautiful! We arrived to find we had been unexpectedly upgraded to one of the two rooms with a shady balcony which was a real plus and, without which, the room might have felt small. The en-suite bathroom was also pretty small but had all the essentials and lots of lovely hot water in the shower (although a soap tray and device to hang the shower head at head height would have been welcome additions). Would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Top tip - Do the beautiful coastal walk round Cap d'Antibes. A local bus will get you there and back very easily.

Le Ponteil is an oasis of calm in Antibes 100m from the beach and 10m from the old town. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The WiFI is good and breakfast is delicious. The owners are welcoming and helpful. You feel like you are in a beautiful Provençal garden (because you are) but in a city at the same time. This hotel is a gem, and a bargain to boot!
