Southern Star Club

We recently spent 5 nights at the Southern Star Club as a family of 4 (children aged 10 and 13). The large, air-conditioned room was simple but clean with small, modern kitchen and bathroom facilities. There are two pools, one for dive training which is 5m deep and another, smaller one for less confident swimmers. The host, Amer was super friendly and helpful. While most people involved in the tourist industry in Jordan see you as a walking ATM, Amer was the opposite, offering good advice for inexpensive restaurant options in downtown Aqaba and negotiating a better deal for a snorkelling trip on a boat on our behalf. We'd brought our own dive masks but Amer is a dive instructor with hire kit available and he took our eldest son for a try-dive for a reasonable fee. Amer also arranged a fantastic location for us in Wadi Rum, Salma Camp - I'll write a separate review for that. The location is not far from the beach but the return is all uphill and in the intense heat of Aqaba, and especially with children I wouldn't recommend walking. We had a hire car and drove to different public beaches for snorkelling trips from the shore, all only a 5-10 minute drive away. I'd definitely recommend this location and especially Amer for his friendly hospitality.

Wir haben eine wunderschöne Zeit hier auf der Anlage verbrach. Das Zimmer mit einer kleinen Küche ist sauber und super ausgestattet.Auf beiden Seiten des Appartements haben wir eine Möglichkeit zum sitzen.Abends kann man im Sonnenuntergang das wunderbare Essen genießen,dass der Hotelbesitzer kocht.Der Fisch schmeckt ausgezeichnet.Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls mit Liebe zubereitet und schmeckt hervorragend.Hinter der Küche kann man im Schatten der Obstbäume seine Ruhe genießen. Sonnenliegen sind vorhanden und man kann zischen einem großen und einem kleinen Pool wählen. Der Hotelbesitzer ist ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit und koordiniert jedes Anliegen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und die Gastfreundschaft steht hier an erster Stelle. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Der Strand ist zu Fuß gut zu erreichen und das Meer ist kristallklar. Es sollen auch einige Riffs zum schnorcheln und tauchen direkt unten am Strand sein.

Pessima esperienza che non consiglierei nemmeno al mio peggior nemico. Alle 13.36 parcheggiamo in questo posto semi desolato, cerchiamo la reception (spoiler: non esiste!) e una signora ci dice che non è l’orario del check-in (h.14.00) . Alle 14.30 ritorniamo dopo aver pranzato e la signora modifica il suo discorso dicendo: “ YOUR ROOM IS HERE” (formula di check in alquanto discutibile) Stanza sporca, bagno decadente, polvere ovunque. La piscina fuori sembra uno stagno, i proprietari ARROGANTI e INCOMPETENTI (può un proprietario di un hotel parlarti senza maglia come se fosse a casa sua?) Non fate il nostro errore e cambiate strada

Le propriétaire Amer et son épouse Lylia sont une bande d'escrocs. Ils vendent des cours de plongée et promettent l'enregistrement et l'envoi d'un diplôme Open Water Padi. Après avoir payé et pratiqué, ils n'envoient pas le certificat chèrement payé. C'est une fraude organisée. Vous pouvez trouver tous les commentaires négatifs détaillés sur TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Google Maps. Fuyez cet hôtel d'escrocs, dénoncez les à la police touristique jordanienne. Une honte pour ce pays honnête et accueillant.

Le propriétaire, Amer, est un escroc. Il ment avec les compétences d’un moniteur de plongé à l’aide de faux papiers et se certificats et promets des leçons de projet qui permettront d’obtenir un certificat : le PADI. Cependant, malgré le prix payé, nous n’avons jamais reçu ledit certificat. Une véritable honte que des personnes comme ça puissent mener une telle escroquerie.

La plus mauvaise expérience dans un hôtel. Une piscine très sale et beaucoups trop profonde 5 mètre donc impossible pour les enfants de s’y amuser en ayant l esprit tranquille. Pas de clim dans la chambre en pleins mois d août c’est invivable. Le pire a été le propriétaire qui pousse à la consolation pour faire de la plongée. Il y a pleins d hôtels dans la même rue beaucoups plus sympa
