Arcadia Village Motel

Lack of communication. Took us ages to get in as the office was closed and we didn't no our keys were in the return keys box. Lucky for us a couple of young girls staying there showed us. Apart from that no complaints.

Great location right next to a bar with lots of activities going on during the day . there is a bus stop located at the back of the hotel which will take you around the island. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Great motel with a nice sized pool. Great location and I experienced toad racing next door at the pub which was fun too

Booked with Agoda in Sept 2 family rooms arrived to have one room other non existing. Island was fully booked 3pm were told no room. Manager was only contactable by txt and wouldn't help. Would never recommend doors gad no locks rooms dirty..

The motel is easy to get to from the ferry using the bus system. No one was around to greet us upon check in (around 4pm) but we did find a key box with an envelope. Not a big deal although usually we’d get a text to let us know if someone wasn’t going to be there at other places. Found our way to the room. Appeared tidy but not very clean. There was a big yellow stain on the skirting of the bedding, hairs in the bathroom, mould in the bathroom, questionable as to whether the quilt had been changed as it had sand and small sticks folded throughout. The bed was two singles zipped together and you could feel every spring. Flat pillows. Meals next door were great & having the pool was really handy. Pool towels were provided at the bistro. TV reception was terrible. After a long work week, I really wanted to just chill out and watch some tv. Our neighbours had asked someone to help with their tv and was told “the owners are away, I don’t know.” Not what we’d expect for $170 per night.

I feel sorry for the owners of this business as you can tell they have tried to spend money recently to refurbish/update. However, our stay with our family of 4 was very underwhelming. The room was dirty. Lots of dust and had not been vacuumed properly. The pillows were so hard and uncomfortable. The worst of all though there was rats in the roof which we could hear all night they were so loud that they scared our children and we had to put on white noise to drain it out. I messaged the manager with no response. The hotel could be amazing due to location if it was cleaned and Reno’s were executed properly.

I came to Maggie Island for some r and r. On entering the room it smelled like damp washing. I am not overly fussy so opened the door and aired it. Later my sister arrived and she could smell it to. The first night late we noticed the toilet leaking (leaving water all over the floor)This ten caused it to fill up every 20 minutes (all night). The following morning I called management to let them know. He said "I'll come right up and fix it". When he hadnt come by 3 I tried again and left a message. I again had a really disturbed sleep due to the toilet noise. I contacted the third party provider to discuss it with them. On check out the manager became very intimating and aggressive. He referred to me as 'one of them that want something for nothing', 'never happy' asking me why I hadnt contacted Friday. He started to seriously gaslight me so I walked away (I hadn't asked for anything) just to bring it to their attention. As I was leaving he yelled "don't ever let me catch you at this hotel or motel again"......then actually "dont ever let me catch you on the island again". At this paused and asked him if it was a threat he replied "yes". Extreemly scary for a woman on her own. Lastly the place is filthy. Like discusting dirty. I took photos see below.

Dont stay at this place, the owners operators are so rude .Disgusting customer service by email and reception. We phoned them direct to ask about a room we had previously stayed in by the old owners.I said do I book on line and can we book with you ? I asked what price and they quoted me a price.On arrival the rude bloke said who gave you this price in a loud and abusive manner.We went to the room.Road works right outside so was really noisy all day.When the workers finnished at 4.30pm they all met a couple of room away from us outside.Swearing. We had to go back inside. Forget the Arcadia Pub we waited 65 minutes fo a take away.People were walking out and demanding their money back. Next morning in our room, put kettle on and made some toast. The power went off. Phoned the owners who yelled at me and said he was not on site. We left.

The staff/management were very friendly and accommodation. When we arrived I asked to be located down stairs as we had young children with us plus a small bbq and portable fridge. No no problem. We stayed 3 nights - we always got a friendly hello from the main man. The view from our room lovely. Bi spacious room. We would come back for sure. Right next to the pub. Choice of 2 pools, laundry access and all round all you needed.
