The building feels a bit degraded, and the shower is a mess, good luck not flooding your entire bathroom. The bedroom isn't fully isolated, the cold and noise enters through the windows. We had to change rooms because there were hairs in our towels and the sink was a mess, and only because we insisted to, the staff just apologized and left, basically On the bright side, the SPA area is good, although the heated pool sometimes feels cold because the air becomes really warm. But be careful if you're planning to go for a weekend at the spa because it can be crowded. Breakfast could be better (even more for a 4 star hotel). Something that could be improved is offering the possibility to choose which type of pillows you need. Overall, 4 star is too high for this hotel, but you can still relax

Very nice and calm hotel, beautifull location. Staff is helpfull and the bed was confy. Turkish bath was not working as properly, but the sauna and jacuzzi were amazing. Some noise during the night from the street, not good for the light sleepers. Might be because of the location of the room We enjoyed our stay and we might come back soon

The good first: the hotel location is amazing, right next to the river, close to the centre of Arcos de Valdevez. The common areas are beautifully furnished, and the breakfast room has an amazing view to the river. Not a lot of variety, but good quality items for breakfast. Receptionists are young but pleasant, and gave us a free upgrade for river view, which is nice. The room is basic, but confortable. The bad: the bathroom cleaning could be better - the shower base has mould, same as the shower head, easily removed by easy cleaning. Booked this hotel because of the spa, and when we got there the swimming pool was cold, the jacuzzi water was dirty and the turkish bath had a bad smell. The receptionists explained that there had been flooding in the spa in the previous week, but they should have warned the guests that things were not funcioning properly and done a better job with the cleaning.

Very welcome staff with friendly service.Good location. Regarding the room and the product in general there’s work to be done. For the high room rate charge in not acceptable to have such a tiny room with dirty walls and zero decoration with empty mini bar. Bed it’s good , kid bed as well but for the price charge we don’t have the feeling of the right value for money.Really basic breakfast buffet but with the necessary food for good breakfast and again service always really attentive.

Great and nice hotel in a very calm atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff and good facilities. The food is very good and the breakfast is great. I highly recommended. I will definitely share with friends and family. Arcos de valdevez is great!

Honestly everything was perfect. The room, the breakfast, the staff, the spa. The only thing I would ask you to change for next time would be the lack of places to hang the different towels in the bathroom. The two “dot” like hangers made more sense to be used for the bath robes but it this case they had to be used for the robes and the hand drying towels. For towels it would make much more so have a horizontal bar rather than those dots. And for shower rug there was no place whatsoever for us to hang it. We had to resort to the sink pipe under the sink itself and since it was a short pipe it would never dry. Sorry for the towel rant but that’s the only criticism I have.

Beautiful, quaint hotel. The views are delicious. The beds are to die for. The adorable boutique touches were appreciated. The fifth star would’ve been if sufficiently staffed, someone attending reception 24/7 as promised, housekeeping actually cleaning rooms, laundry/sitter services as promised, etc. Staffing clearly lacking. Overall, very promising hotel.
