Ardlui Hotel

The staff here were very attentive to customer service. Despite being very busy, the gentleman at the front desk took the time to explain to me how UK currency and coins work so that I could operate the washer and dryer. A relaxing stop on my trek across the West Highland Way.

Didn't stay but came to the restaurant which wasn't a great experience. Ordered 2 steak pies, both sent back as cold. Came back 2 minutes later the same. It was sour and tastes awful. Didn't eat it. The veg was nice. another meal was steak, barely warm. They did give us free drinks and didn't charge for the pie. Other customer sending cold food back and getting wrong food. Wouldn't come back. It was busy and staff are friendly, not very attentive as they are busy.

Wow. Quite a feverish experience to spend two nights in the Ardlui Hotel pods, from start to end. The place is giving… Schitt’s Creek episode? In good and bad ways. We arrived by train on a tranquil Friday afternoon in the secluded community of Ardlui - there’s nothing there for miles and miles. First impressions were great with a stunning view of the Loch. Checking in was an interesting quest - the process took 40 minutes of waiting because the warden was on a break. Also we didn’t realise you had to press a bell to gain his attention. As we were waiting a member of staff came over and pinned a sign to the community board warning campers to boil water prior to drinking…. Odd? Problematic? Ecoli you might think? But no… just outdated water filters that were meant to be changed the week after. You might have expected free bottled water for guests at this point. But you would have been wrong. The camping pod was nice, warm and unproblematic though. Moving on to some higlights we have Alex the barman/waiter who was just vibes. And the most professional by far. Great oufit mate! Skipping through images of our weekend we have some mouldy bread at the breakfast counter, questionably cleaned toilets and a surprisingly good mac and cheese. Great tunes playing at dinner too. Wonder if Alex made the playlist? Final thoughts - if you want an isolating, reality-shifting weekend, this place is for you. We shan’t be back!

Terrible! We stayed there 2 nights ago and would NEVER recommend this place! The bartender Let was very nice but everyone else was very rude. We were really looking forward to staying here, but I'm hoping people read this and heed the warning!

This was a wonderful hotel on the West Highland Way. You summon ( hourly) a boat to come and pick you up from the other side of the loch. Rooms were great as was the food. The front of house team were really good in the bar restaurant 👏 A packed lunch was available for the trail.

A mixed bag!! We were walking the West Highland Way and needed sleep!! The food in the restaurant was excellent. The bar come pub attached was very basic and very noisy, duke box and a party atmosphere. The two are just incompatible. We stayed in room 18, this is directly above the pub bar, the noise was so bad we had to complain at 10pm, because you would never get to sleep. Finally they managed to close it all down about 1030pm, so that was a relief, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The water taxi from the east shore is expensive £24 return for 2 mins in the water!! Lovely views, they just don’t make use of it, with some careful thinking and redesigning this could be an oasis. By the way we spoke to other guests at breakfast who all said the same re the noise and ferry cost.
