Hotel Palmyra

We decided to book a weeks holiday in Palmyra hotel during the May half term, as we had never been to the area. On arriving to the hotel, we were told that we need to pay extra money for the use of air conditioning and room fridge per day, during 33 degree weather. This was not stated by the travel agent, and we had never been to a hotel that did not have these room basics, which should have been part of the £1000 we paid. As one of our family members was a diabetic, we had no choice but to pay the daily fee to store insulin. The receptionist seemed very complacent and shrugged her shoulders saying that that was the way they ran the hotel. After making our way up to our room, we walked into a very hot, stuffy room that looked like it hadn't been redecorated since the 90s! We booked for 3 adults and we had a double and single bed in a room with no Air con, TV, Kettle, towels, iron,safe. There was barely any room to move with us having to clamber over beds to get across the room. The fridge that we paid for was dirty and barely felt cold at all on the max setting. We did inform reception and was told that nothing could be done until the following morning. We had little choice, as the management was not at all helpful in understanding the need to store insulin in a fridge. Later that day we went for dinner, as we had booked half board. We were then presented with the menu which had 5 main dishes and 4 starters. We expected a buffet, and enquired whether it would be a different menu each day, only to be told that the 5 dishes was all they provided. The menu was bland and did not reflect any proper Greek cuisine. We also had to pay for our drinks and no dessert was provided. When the food arrived, it was far from appetising with either wet, mushy food or dry stale meat. The thought of eating this all week really dampened our expectations. After dinner we then went back to the hotel, to try and get an early night in a hot room. The hotel is supposed to be a non smoking hotel, however the smell of cigarette smoke opposite our room was overwhelming. We did inform reception, only to be told that they have a policy, but people may not stick to it in their rooms. It was a very uncomfortable evening on the flimsy beds. The following morning, we went down to have breakfast. We were met at reception by a male member of staff, who was wanting to talk to us about the fridge, but we told him that we wanted to have breakfast before they cleared the food away, which he was not pleased with.We entered the empty dining area only to find that was hardly anything on offer as many serving plates were empty or with 1 or 2 bits of cheese and cold meat. We had to find the one waitress, who had shut herself in the kitchen, to ask whether she could provide a basic continental breakfast- from her behaviour she seemed frustrated that she had to go and sort the food out, and went back into the kitchen. We stayed here about 4 days , and this hotel disappointed us ! I will start with reception what never say to you hello , never ask you If you need anything or may be smile to you, only cleaning woman smile to you and ask how are you , and if all is ok . The breakfast is everyday the same , they didn't change anything , I don't know how people can stay there more than 3 days then the food is monotonous . In every hotel i was , every day the towels was changed, but here they changed ones in two days, and clean the room also one in two days . In Zakynthos you can find better hotels , and don't lose your time in Palmyra !

We got to the hotel to be told we did not have a room. There was me my wife and daughter. The receptionist said 2 of us could sleep in a room and one of us would be put up in another hotel which was unacceptable. She said she would put a camp bed in the room and would get us a room in the morning. As promised in the morning we were given a triple room with not enough bedding just smelly blankets. The hotel was clean and reception staff were as helpful as they could be. I spoke to the manager the day we were leaving who was arrogant and unhelpful. Her answer was you got a room with 3 beds whats the problem. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The manager needs sacking

This is my 2nd stay in this hotel and I have just rebooked for September 2025 The hotel is located just off the main road of Argassi. It is quiet with a nice outdoor pool area that has lots of sun beds. I booked b&b which was the only option with Jet2 Holidays. There is always a good selection of hot & cold food/fruit/drinks etc. When we go in Sept, the bar is t open in the evening but right outside the hotel, there are plenty of bars/ restaurants etc. The rooms are spacious and modern and the staff are helpful. Great hotel to base yourself. Argassi doesn’t have a good beach, however 10 minutes up the coast is Banana Beach which is gorgeous. There is a daily bus you can get there and back. There is also a little land train into Zante town, which has lots of shops and nice places to eat.

The hotel is really nice and it's in the center of Argassi. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around. The rooms are modern and very clean. The staff is absolutely lovely, especially Miss Marina Tsiasioti who helped me organize my medication delivery. Breakfast is tasty, but it's the standard type of breakfast you get at hotels. They should definitely change the coffee machine and the soft drinks machine. The drinks from the machine taste like chemicals. The coffee machine also makes disgusting coffee from powder! Why can't they offer a pod coffee machine with natural milk instead of powdered milk? If you choose the half board option, you'll receive a voucher for a restaurant where you can choose three meal options. You have to pay for drinks though. Overall, it's a nice and quiet hotel that I would recommend.

We just love this hotel, it's centrally located, spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable, staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. This was the second time this year for us to visit, and we have just recently booked again for September for our honeymoon. Lots of restaurants close by within easy walking distance.
