Contessa Hotel

Just back from another great stay ,from the moment we arrived we had a lovely welcome from mario and spirios, Lydia on reception, Panos at the bar and all the rest of the staff who work so hard to make your stay so special, I received a lovely birthday cake 🎂, thank you so much ,can not rate this hotel so much it really is a home from home and can not wait to return, the improvements that have been made around the pool and bar area are fantastic, see you soon❤️

Fabulous hotel with lovely staff. Rooms are cleaned every day and the hotel and grounds are spotless. Breakfast is included and there is a good range catering for all tastes. The rooms are recently renovated and are modern and bright. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Argassi!

Highly recommend this little gem of a hotel. Warm friendly staff and its kept spotlessly clean by the team of cleaners. We upgraded to a pool view room which was perfect. The hotel is well located for exploring the island which we did by bike. The breakfast suited us with fresh varied choices.

The hotel grounds are Lovely, however we booked a family off 4 aimed got a double room with old dirty broken bunkbeds. Spoke to receptionist, they contracted the holiday company 2 months before to tell them they couldn’t accommodate us but nobody told us until we checked in and it complained. Had a broken hairdryer and the sink pipe was cracked meaning our sink leaked every time the tap was on, also had a dirty floor from the day we checked in. Lydia ( receptionist) curry friendly and helpful however the evening receptionist was rude, dismissive and overall nonchalant about the whole situation. Eventually the holiday company moved us. Nice pool but they allow towels on beds from early hours and they ar left there all day. Great location

I am currently staying at contessa and firstly I’d just like to say how lovely it is however I am one day in and dreading the rest of the week due to the basement room we have been given which is too claustrophobic and feels like a prison cell. Myself husband and another couple we came with are doing everything we can to avoid the rooms and it was that bad this morning and I had to vacate the room by 5am. We have a view of a solid brick wall and nowhere to dry towels. This was not cheap and the room description is not made clear. I would never have booked this and feel it has just ruined what was supposed to be a nice week. I do not normally write reviews like this and I do not want to put people off this beautiful hotel but make sure you do not make the same mistake as us and end up on one of these rooms

We’ve been back a few days now and I miss the place so much! Firstly - location; amazing, at the top of a crossroads at the end of which - to the left and right - are a number of bars and restaurants to choose from, we were spoiled for choice for a week. Highly recommend Peppermint (opposite the church to the left, on the street behind the main) and Orange (which is also to the right in the main road). We didn’t have any bad food though. 10 mins to Zakynthos town which is well worth a visit. 15 mins to St Nicholas beach - also recommended. There is no real beach in Argasi itself just a very thin strip, but there are some lovely bars you can sit at on the front whilst watching the sea. Now onto the hotel: - spotlessly clean (rooms made up every day, towels changed every other). - breakfast: great choice of hot and cold food, eggs, sausages, veg, fruit, yoghurt etc. very busy even in October so imagine in summer it’s even more so but you just go with it - showers: constantly hot water and great water pressure - rooms: we were given chance to upgrade and we chose not to, the ‘basic’ rooms are fine for what we wanted, we were on floor one (basement) with a garden view - it wasn’t really a garden more a strip of green with lime trees but we loved it as nice and quiet and felt like we were cocooned away from main hotel - pool area: spacious, modern, clean. The food menu had loads of choice and came quickly - compliments to the chef who worked very hard all day - staff : this is what made it for us. They weren’t overbearing and wouldn’t bother you if you didn’t want to chat etc, but we did and every night we had a nightcap by the pool bar, the gents there worked so so hard, all day every day making people feel welcome and comfortable, never experienced such good service on any holiday before. Overall this is a very very good 3* hotel, I’d say at the top end if not pushing 4*. It’s unpretentious but clean, spacious, welcoming and friendly. We’re not the type of couple to revisit same hotels but for this we’d probably make an exception.
