Hotel Princesa Parc Excellence

The hotel is tucked away among hundreds of mountains, offering a peaceful atmosphere and incredible panoramic views. You can see mountain after mountain stretching into the distance — I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter. The lobby is full of light and greenery, like a natural extension of the outdoors. My first impression was very positive. I even spotted some horses in the yard — a lovely bonus. The spa experience was also fantastic. There were several pools and saunas to choose from, and the €15/hour fee felt more than fair. My husband is a big spa fan, and he was thrilled. The room was... okay. A bit smaller than I expected, but manageable. My biggest issue was the lighting — especially in the bathroom. I don’t know why so many hotels get this wrong. As a woman, if you want to win me over, give me lighting that makes me look in the mirror and say, “Wow, I look amazing!” Instead, I felt like I was lying on a hospital bed about to go into surgery. So far, still a solid 4-star experience. Then came dinner — and the nightmare began. How do I describe the food? Let’s just say, I wish I had arrived a week earlier, because that’s probably when it was cooked. My food standards are simple: just be fresh. Fancy cooking isn’t necessary if the ingredients are good. Sadly, the food here failed miserably on freshness. The shrimp and fish had such a strong, unfresh seafood smell that I had to wash my hands three times to get rid of it. The meat was dry and tough — clearly reheated — and the vegetables tasted bitter, like they had given up on life. Honestly, the whole buffet felt like a funeral for food. I wanted to throw up after eating — and my husband actually did. I felt awful for choosing to eat there. I spoke with a lovely woman at the front desk who said she would talk to the manager about a refund. The next day, the manager declined — because “you already ate the food.” He did, however, agree to refund our breakfast, since there was no way we were going to risk eating there again. That dinner will stay with me for a long, long time. I’m actually curious if I’ll ever encounter a worse meal in my life. It’ll be tough to beat.

This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. The rooms are small and dated, even in the 5* section. Room was dirty on arrival. Did mention it to reception but nothing done. Spa itself is nice but staff rude. They make you feel like they are doing you a favour by allowing you to use it. No towels offered, and you get made to feel awkward asking for one. Also booking not easy, they try and put you off booking by saying it will be busy or beware there will be children. Both times we used it was not busy at all. Disappointing as it’s a big reason to book this hotel. A la carte food ok but not amazing. Location is decent not too far to walk. I think the hotel just rely on this fact for bookings. Overall not the worst but could be so much better if the staff were trained better, and the spa staff replaced.

The room was really small. There was no space to move beside the bed. We are a family of four and we booked a suite which they claim are suitable for four adults. On one side there are two 2.5 feet single bed but these two bed has to be pack together otherwise one of the adult has no space to get off the bed. The stafff service is also not satisfactory.

Spa staff were extremely rud le and they don’t make it easy or comfortable to use the facility. We stayed in the 5* part of the hotel but they can’t even help with luggage and food wasn’t great. Also room was dirty and dated. Other staff friendly and location great for ski lift.

Great property. Was a great place to go bowling, swimming and general relaxation. There was a bus that would go into the main city. Not easily accessible to hikes without a car from this property and the gondola was not running during mid summer.

Much about the place is very good, but a few frustrations for people with mobility difficulties. No complints though. Breakfast was outstanding.
