Hotel Xalet Verdú

I stayed here from March 9th 2025 for a week skiing and snowboarding with my wife and 20 year old son. Fantastic hotel, clean and warm. Nela and the staff couldn’t do more for you! Food was very good. We were half board which worked well. Buffett breakfast with hot and cold food. Evening dinner was 3 courses. 10 mins walk to the gondola and main village. Slight incline back to the hotel. We hired lockers at Serge ski hire shop at the top of the gondola. Well worth the €60 for the week. Would definitely go back!!

Lovely stay from start to finish. Good food, very friendly staff, clean warm and comfortable. I've not been able to fault our saty we've had a great week and the bar is very reasonably priced too. Drinks are not included with evening meal and you are expected to pay for water if you have it and they prefer you run your drinks bill for the week but like I said its very reasonably priced.

We took a family ski trip to Arinsal and the Xalet Verdu was a great choice. Although a 5 min walk to the main gondola the lockers up at the top were well worth the €60 for the week to leave our skis and boots (3 people). The hotel staff are very friendly and interacted particularly well with the younger guests. The food is excellent with a wide ranging buffet for breakfast and evening meal is buffet starter and choice out of three for mains and desserts. The rooms are clean and pretty well equipped, and having two interconnecting family rooms was very useful. Ski locker available downstairs. About 5 min walk to supermarket and centre of town. Would definitely use again when I'm next back in the area

From the moment of arrival everything was fantastic. We had warm welcome at the reception and been shown our room. Our room was on the 2nd floor with the mountain view. Bathroom was very clean, towels changed daily, shower with a good pressure. Whole hotel was very quiet at night no need for earplugs. Breakfast served from 8am included eggs/sausages/ bacon/ beans loads of lovely breads, at least 5 different types of cheeses and meats. Muesli/ cereal, fruits, yoghurts, milks - including vegan - soy and oat milk. Dinners were great choice of meats/ fish for main and buffet. The hotel catered for me specially as I'm vegan, every evening I had separate dish prepared, all very tasty, most of the soups of the day were vegan too - best soups I had in a while. Cheap but delicious house wine 3.5 euro for a generous glass, you can buy a bottle and they will label it and keep it for you for next meal. All staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for more. Great location , there is a bus stop just outside the hotel, bars, restaurants all in a walking distance. I really recommend the Irish bar for great atmosphere and the hunters - nice food and beer, reasonably priced. Great holidays!!!

The hotel is based up a slight hill on the outskirts of Arinsal. The room was fine for the two of us and our 17 year old son, clean and regular cleaning from the staff. There were two supermarkets about 5-10 mins walk away that had everything you could want. The gondola was also about 5 mins away, although we made the mistake of walking there and back everyday with skis and boots on - if I went again I would rent a locker up the mountain. The main reason for the 3 out of 5 rating was the food. We stayed half board and whilst breakfast was fine with cereals, cheeses, pastries, hot dishes etc the evening meals really let them down. The main courses were always luke warm at best and reading other reviews it seems this has been a feature for a while now. We ate out the last two nights of our week stay as Arinsal had plenty of choices for food within 10 mins walk. The reception staff were very friendly, you could rent a safety deposit box for a refundable 20 euros, and you had to rent a locked in the basement to keep skis in, again for a refundable 20 euros. I would happily return to Arinsal as the slopes were amazing, but not too this hotel.

This was an OK place. It’s rather faded – circa 1990. The interior was pretty stark, though it was clean. There was only 1 chair in the room which meant that one of us had to sit on the bed. There were a decent amount of towel bars/hooks and good counter space for toiletries. We had a nice little balcony with a partial view of the mountains, but there was no table on which to put drinks. The room did not have a fridge or a kettle with which to make coffee/tea. The website makes it look like it’s out in the country with beautiful views, but that is not the case. It’s on the edge of the town of Arinsal and the views are only partial and look down through the town. The dining room looked rather like a diner with plastic tablecloths and hard chairs. Dinners were pretty good (we had taken half-board thinking we’d be out in the country); the waiter was a bit aloof, but he warmed up over time. Breakfasts had a good selection of yogurt, cereals, breads, cheeses, meats, eggs and fruit – but there was no decaf coffee available. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There was a faint odor of cigarette smoke most everywhere despite the prohibition of smoking inside – people were smoking right outside the front door and it wafted in. There is no A/C, so we had to leave the window open to get it cool enough to sleep. The towels and sheets/blankets need replacing – they’re kind of threadbare, though it was really nice to have sheets and blankets instead of only a duvet. Overall, it's an OK place for a night or 2. We wouldn’t necessarily avoid it, but we might look elsewhere if we were to return to the area.
