Pedra da Laguna Boutique Hotel Spa

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. As an Australian travel agency owner, I feel compelled to WARN others about this disaster. We paid for a high room category, and during my stay, a part of the accent wall fell in, injuring my foot while I was working. This incident exposed electrical wires and caused the DVD player to crash to the floor. Shockingly, there was no manager or responsible person present during our entire stay to address this DANGEROUS situation. Despite sending six emails, I received NO RESPONSE. It's clear there's no manager at this hotel. Breakfast doesn't start until 8:30 AM, even though most tours leave between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. Breakfast was ready at 7 AM, but we were only offered a pathetic cheese and ham sandwich. This hotel does not deserve its 4 or 4.5-star rating. Besides the wall incident, there was a persistent sewage smell in the premium room we booked. The only response I received was from someone named Loreena, who addressed this issue once with no follow-up. The gardens may look beautiful, but the hotel and staff are FAR FROM IT. What happened to me was DANGEROUS, and my foot is still not healed. I tried to contact management, but both email addresses they provided bounced back. This confirms my suspicion that there is NO MANAGER overseeing this property. For anyone considering this hotel, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking elsewhere. There are many other options in Búzios, and I GUARANTEE you will have a better experience. Save yourself the hassle and STAY AWAY from this place. To make matters worse, the handyman came to our room, took the piece of the wall, and said he needed more tools to fix it. HE NEVER RETURNED. This review is based on the manager's deceiving response, whoever the manager may be. I was advised that management would be waiting for me upon checkout to discuss, but no one was there. I have stayed at many hotels during my business trip to Brazil and left 5-star reviews for all but this property. Photos are evident.

Fantastic hotel, we did not want to leave. The gardens and pool are beautiful. All staff were really friendly. Breakfast was sensational. We ate dinner one night and this was also excellent. Good air conditioning, comfy bed. The only slight negative was that the bathroom looked tired and in need of a refurb (room 12). We would however 100% stay again and probably upgrade the room as we saw pictures of lovely bathrooms with higher spec. It felt like a piece of paradise sunbathing around the pool.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautifully kept. The room was well appointed The two swimming pools are very clean and are picturesque. The breakfast was a buffet and had excellent choices. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach. Would definitely come back if in the area

We stayed for 2 nights in December 2023 & would happily have stayed longer. all the staff were very helpful & friendly with my attempts at Portuguese causing much hilarity. The swimming pool is a major bonus, it's great to have somewhere to swim lengths. The Tuna we had for dinner was also a highlight. We loved the location, great swimming beach around 5 minutes walk and walks out to the headland with great views. It's around 1/2 an hour walk into the centre over a hill but taxis are easily available (R$25 one-way)

Beautiful hotel and great location. Best to have a car, but one can also rent a buggy or take a taxi when needed. No complaints about the room, it was great. Re. food, it was either great or so-so (perhaps there were different chefs?). An awesome meal is the Ceviche de Banana as appetizer, then the amazing moqueca de peixe, both from chef Wellington, followed by an experimental cocktail from bartender Savio. Breakfast was nice. Only criticism: beware of tourist traps offered by one or the other receptionist, that are a side hustle and not officially sanctioned by the hotel. But I'd go back to the hotel any time!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend this hotel. My only caveat is that it’s not quite walkable to the downtown and the beach. I also recommend the spa services.
