Findon Rest Ltd

We booked Unit 1 at Findon Rest to stay one Saturday night in April 2025. When we arrived, we had to step down into the lounge area where the ceiling is very low and there are 2 steps up into the bedroom area which caused an extremely low ceiling clearance at the end of the bed, which had to be negotiated if going to the bathroom (at the other side of the room). There are 2 extremely uncomfortable, lumpy beds with a small chest of drawers between them and a lamp. Around midnight, we were awoken by another couple in the unit upstairs arriving back. There is little or no sound insulation, so any movement and use of facilities above can be heard quite clearly. After suffering a fall onto the concrete floor caused by the dangerous steps and low ceiling, we left the room and checked in to a local hotel chain for safety. Subsequently we contacted the owners to tell them about what had happened, asking for a refund and reimbursement of the other hotel costs. Our request was denied showing a complete lack of empathy from the owner over the degree of trauma caused by this uninhabitable property. Since then, we have spent many hours in A&E (my partner had a broken thumb and badly damaged wrist), the fracture clinic and other medical facilities. Please do not use this place. It is dangerous and it needs to be shut down.

Brilliant village style accommodation. Great location too. We booked 3 rooms here for a family stay, and you could tell the rooms had all been recently decorated, and they were perfect for our stay. Clive the owner was really helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Upon arrival the accommodation looked comfy and cozy however when we settled we discovered that everything electrical was run from extension leads plugged into extension leads. The bathroom was tatty at best with a random screw in the wall at eye level beside the toilet. The shower fitting was disgusting. The TV did not work (you could only get ITV 1) also unable to operate the hairdryer. There was information on how to contact the management however when you've travelled over 6 hours and arrive after 9pm you would hope that the basic amenities were working.
