The hotel's standards for health, safety, and service were incredibly lacking during our recent stay. Despite our long-standing patronage during ISPO time, the quality never matched the purported four-star rating. Upon arrival this year, my colleague and I were given a room riddled with mold and filth, and another one inconveniently close to noisy areas. Expressing concern about potential disturbance, the receptionist responded rudely and dismissively. Despite the unpleasant conditions, we reluctantly decided not to argue but planned to request a new room the next day. The state of the bedding was appalling, with foul odors and visibly stained duvets. In the morning, a different receptionist acknowledged the unacceptable conditions, especially the mold, and assured us of a room change upon our return. However, upon our late return, new staff claimed no record of our issue, insisting the hotel was fully booked despite evidence to the contrary. After my colleague insisted on leaving, a room suddenly became available for her, yet no solution was offered for me. Despite assurances of discounts, the replacement room still had mold issues. Attempts to review the bill were denied, with the manager unavailable on-site and only offering a callback. When the manager did call, instead of apologizing, he resorted to blaming our supposed difficulty as guests and complained to my company about my behavior. The breakfast experience further soured our stay, with the front office staff rudely shouting at patrons. This unacceptable experience compels me to take action, and I intend to contact the German Health and Safety department for an inspection of the rooms affected by mold and inadequate cleanliness.
