Romantik Hotel Castello Seeschloss

We stayed for three nights with a 50% discounted half board voucher, although I did book an upgraded room with balcony - room 202 - which had a partial lake view overlooking the beautiful gardens. There was a small sitting area inside as well, and the room was really spacious enough for us. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and when we came back to our room it had already been made up. It’s also a hotel that still has a turndown service whilst we were at dinner. All lovely details. To put it succinctly, we loved the hotel! Its location at the end of the pedestrian zone was ideal, the cleanliness and comfort were 5-star and the personnel, from reception to wait staff and housekeeping were all wonderful! In other words, I have nothing but superlatives to describe this lovely hotel. We very much enjoyed our dinners in the lakeside restaurant - the only negative comment I would make is that the portions of the main course were simply too big. Our lovely waiter suggested he bring us half portions for our last night, which was just perfect. Some of the rooms apparently have beautiful painted ceilings, and although ours didn’t, we did very much enjoy the sitting rooms and other public places. We’ve just had a terrible year of family grief so this little trip away (we live in the French part of Switzerland) was balm for our souls. I’d love to come back!

Had a very good meal here. Lovely setting, superb view of the lake. Good food good service. Will come again. Was quite busy but at the same time very relaxing. Very clean inside restaurant and rest rooms. Gardens very well kept. Found the place by accident, was so hectic everywhere else. Good choice!

An absolutely charming, well appointed, small hotel in the most idyllic position on Lake Maggiore. Full of unique and historical touches, clean, calm, well staffed, perfectly located. Lovely large room and really good breakfast (excellent bread). Would go back again and again.

I stayed there many years ago, and while I decided to stay at a more modern hotel this time, it is still one of my favorites. I walked by there, studied the menus, reviewed rooms, and looked like I remembered a few years ago. Besides, it was sold out when I booked, which is always a good sign.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und verabschiedet. Alles in allem ein sehr netter Kurzaufenthalt in schönem Ambiente. Trotz Dauerregen haben wir uns sehr gut erholt und im Hotel willkommen gefühlt. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Die Lage ist top. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer jedoch eine riesige Enttäuschung!! Unser Zimmer war extrem klein, das Bett nur 1.40m breit. Der Aufzugschacht ragt weit in unser Zimmer hinein. Dadurch hörten wir Tag und Nacht wenn jemand mit dem Auzug fuhr, was sehr laut war. Beim Check-out haben wir dies erwähnt und unsere Unzufriedenheit kund getan. Leider hatte die Receptionistin kein Gehör, ausser "Das tut mir leid", jedoch hatten wir das Gefühl, dass sie sich nicht gross dafür interessierte. Einfach nur Desinteresse... Bezahlt haben wir immerhin 537.- für zwei Nächte. Vielleicht ist dies halt der Standart in einer Ortschaft wie Ascona... Die Kunden kommen ja sowieso ☹️
