Gateway Inn & Cabins

Only can check in 3pm to 5pm. Makes it almost impossible to arrive on time when traveling . No any compensation such as leaving the keycard in front desk as other hotels. We have no where to go but to sleep in our car on this day!! This is the worst hotel in US

Location very good. Room is well decorated, but bed is not clean.

DO NOT STAY!!! DISGUSTING & UNHEALTHY!! If i could chose 0 i would have!! This was the dirtiest room i have ever been in! 2 blood spots on comforter, old blood stain on sheets, hair & skin flakes in sheets, lots of hair in sheets, hair/dust all around the corners of the walls, & some weird yellow dripping streaks under the table. We ended sleeping on top of the comforter in our clothes (with hoods ups) since we arrived late at night and everywhere else was booked. Sure, its old, furniture isnt great, the tv/dvd situation didnt work.. i can overlook that but to be in an unclean unhealthy situation, i cannot! $150 a night to sleep in total filth is unacceptable. They also were not willing to refund us for the next night and offered us another room lol. No way! We booked a new place down the road for the following night.

This place has really mixed reviews, its quite strange reading them back after staying. I booked a cabin and the pictures show the ones on the main site, but I was given the new one which is pretty much in the car park, so I think it is much better than the other ones from peoples comments. It was out of season but I am going to guess that this will be really noisy when it is busy as it is virtually on the road, however its mounted to a trailer so I think maybe it will be moved at some point ? The unit was really nice, I wasn't expecting a whole kitchen so that was a bonus however there were no utensils or kitchen linens which was a bit odd. As I said, I wasn't expecting it so didn't need to use it, but I'm guessing that I could have got things from reception if I had needed. Most of the reviews mention lack of internet, given the location, this really is not a surprise, I think my issue is that the advert says it has internet. It would probably be better if it made it clear that it is virtually non existent, the tv also runs through the internet so that also does not really work. Again - would be better to tell people there is no internet or TV and then if it happens to work, its a bonus for people. Location and price were good, would recommend this place and would come back if I return in the future.

Overpriced and rundown. Run! Please let this be your warning. There are much better other options in town. The cabin was musty and smelled strongly like mold. The tv and wifi are amenities that are just for show because they don’t work either. The lighting in there is horrible and we had to use our cell phone flashlights to navigate around. There were stains on the comforter and the whole cabin is extremely outdated and dirty- I think this place is only still in existence because of it’s location. It was so bad we had to leave a day early and find other accommodations. When we presented these issues - the staff was rude and did not care. They did not seem phased by any of our complaints (probably hear it all the time) nor apologize at any point for the inconvenience. They literally do not care.

Great little tiny houses/cabins just right outside the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Avoid the lines and stay close. Cute and very new, clean cabins. The only downside was no hair dryers. The only place on my trip without one in the room and the office was closed.

We went into our stay at the Gateway Inn with very low expectations after reading all the reviews here. We were more than pleasantly surprised when our experience was just the opposite. We had reserved this using points and from the time we reserved until our actual stay, the price went down 4 times so we ended up booking two nights for only 31,737 points. They emailed us AND called us the day we were to arrive to let us know that if we came after 6 pm, there would be instructions posted on the outside office wall. It was there, just as they said it would be. We stayed in cabin 28 with was very spacious and clean. It had two queen beds, a chair, a desk with chair, a large dresser and TV, 3 nightstands, 2 benches, 2 closets and a small kitchenette area with a microwave, coffee pot and mini frig. The absolute best thing was the bathroom which had its own heater and 6 hooks on the wall. When we came back from hiking with soaking wet clothes, shoes and fanny packs, we put everything in there, turned the heater to 80 and closed the door. We woke up to perfectly dry things! It is located pretty much AT the gate to Mount Rainier so going in at our appointed time was a breeze! When we needed more towels and a blow dryer, they took them right over to the cabin for us while we went to eat dinner. The WiFI worked great and we were all about to connect. We didn't try the TV but that's not why we were there. We were able to park right in front of the door for easy unloading and loading. I really don't have one negative thing to say about this place and am so thankful that our experience was a great one.
