We travel to Ashland several times a year. We previously stayed at a different hotel, but it was getting signs of too much deferred maintenance so with good ratings via this site and others we switched to The Bard. We were very disappointed. We had booked a Deluxe Pet Friendly room. The room is not in the main building which would have been fine, but was in a separate building with several issues. Lots of street noise as it is on the main road through town, and also, the internet was terrible. Which would have been marginally ok - we just used our phones as hotspots - except when i went to check out the desk person said “did you call the front desk. Usually if you call they reboot the router and then it works better.” So, if you know your WiFi in the outer building doesn’t work well, why don’t you fix it? I actually asked if he would tell anyone about our concern. Oh, yes, he said. I doubt he told anyone, thinking, “she is leaving it will be the next person’s problems.” So we will keep looking for a better pet friendly hotel walking distance to downtown Ashland. The Bard will not get any of our repeat business..
