My visit here was surprisingly good and memorable. I say surprisingly as I didn't have high expectations - it was a bed for the night. However the location was very pretty and impressive. My room was exactly what I needed and more - the attention to detail was commendable - the choice of drinking water, the fresh milk, the delicious biscuits (which looked homemade). The bed was very comfortable, there was a radio, a clock and the stylish interior with original art was observed. Our contact on check in was so helpful thinking of the main room being available if we came back early. Also we had the option of having breakfast here available at very short notice. We should have gone for it! Next time... would thoroughly recommend

Another quality stay at the Lochinver!! Stayed yet again for two nights in the Montgomery suite, lovely room, spotlessly clean and really comfy bed. Breakfast is probably one of the best of any property we have ever stayed at !! Location is great for getting into and around Ayr. A real home from home and Sinclair is extremely helpful as are all the staff. We would always stay at the Lochinver b&b whenever we are in this area. Don't bother with booking sites just ring Sinclair direct for the best prices! See you again soon and thanks again for a lovely stay.

All the other reviews are spot on - very welcoming, spotless, clean room and amazing high quality breakfast. My room was very comfortable and equipped with everything I needed and there is free parking too. Will definitely stay again - thank you

Everything was of the highest standard. A cafetière and teapot were provided along with a small flask of fresh milk. Everything so comfortable, clean and quiet. A real feeling of luxury in a beautiful property. Amazing breakfast and lovely staff.

Everything about our stay at Lochinver was exceptional. The house is magnificent, the booking & check-in process flawless for our family of 4 and the value for us was unmatched. Our rooms were comfortable, elegant, exceptionally appointed, with every detail exceeding any other accommodation we’ve experienced during our 5 week trip. Luxurious and plentiful towels, toiletries, tea and coffee station, bed linen and decor. The beds were incredibly comfortable & rooms delightfully decorated. Sinclair’s welcome and dinner recommendations were as warm and friendly as the stunning sitting room. Margaret provided the same wonderful hospitality in the breakfast room and a hearty breakfast with so many delicious options we had trouble choosing what we’d eat. Thank you and congrats to Lochinver, we would return in a heartbeat!

Loved this place..I felt good as soon as I walked in the door. Sinclair greeted me with a GENUINE smile. The ambience of this place, so lovely, piano in the lounge, a pleasure to look at. I did not have breakfast but the kitchen was so clean and had every type of breakie dish one could wish for. Super. No lift but Sinclair carried my case upstairs. My attic room small and cosy, equipped with filter coffee, tea, water, still & sparkling. All in all a lovely place to stay. Many thanks.

This is a really nice guesthouse. Has everything you need great breakfast too. Lots of choice and really tasty food which was cooked to perfection. Even has fresh coffee in room. Situated near to town centre but in a quiet location.and plenty of street parking.

I reviewed this Guest House last year & had the pleasure of visiting this place once again. What a delight ! We had a ,sad ,event to attend & Sinclair managed to accommodate our extended family in an exceptionally clean, warm, safe , joyous ,environment . Situated in a beautiful tree lined street. Such attention to detail in the bedrooms . The staff are so friendly, the breakfast amazing, so much choice . I cannot rate it highly enough ! Give it a try !

We were in Ayr as a family of ten to attend a family funeral. Sinclair not only gave us early access to our rooms to get ready but afterwards gave us free run of the cosy drawing room to spend time as a family - it was very special. The hotel is in a great location on a very beautiful street. The rooms are spotless and cosy and have everything you need and more. The breakfast was first class. Everything was lovely and fresh and the staff were so friendly. Sinclair is an amazing host - not in your face but in the background making sure everything possible is done to make your stay comfortable. We cannot thank him enough.
