Villa les Palmes

The property has potential however overall I did not have a successful stay. Upon check in I was advised that the room had a shared bathroom. The owner advised that he had a room with a private bathroom but this was more expensive. He advised me to cancel the original reservation and re-book the en-suite room and he would authorise a refund via ********** for the full cost of the original booking. I did this with great difficulty, as to why this could not have been sorted locally I am still unsure! Anyway ********** emailed to advise the owner had not waived the cancellation fee for the original booking. When I approached him he stated they had not contacted him. I wasted two days of my holiday dealing with this. The owner then said that as the second booking was made using a promotional rate (but still much higher value than the original booking) he wanted me to give him the amount of the promotion back in order for him to agree the refund of the original reservation - basically blackmail. It was clear he had not responded to ********** intentionally and this was part of his game to extract more money from me. Added to this the hotel had no heating on my first night and was not comfortable. The owner spends all of his time chain smoking in the kitchen - yes Kitchen! Meaning the whole place smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very basic and of poor quality and finally the photos on the website are not recent and not a true reflection. I do not recommend.

Centrally located. Wonderful host. Suite Bechir Is a good choice. There are stairs to climb. But once you get there its very comfortable. Host Ali is very helpful and did a lot to help make our stay comfortable. Adjusting heating when needed. Calling a taxi. Recommending sites to visit.

Very Nice place to stay in the hearth of Tunis Very good décoration and warm place Owner very friendly and the location is perfect to relax 1nd work being close to everything in the centre, accommodation and métal are excellent

Booked a room for a night in the villa after reading great reviews. The room was small but clean and had a very spacious bathroom. Beds were comfy and breakfast the next morning was OK. On the downside the owner wasn't exactly helpful with luggage or finding a taxi and such. Tried to ask for 20dinars more than what was agreed over the phone too. And worst thing is the AC that was technically working but was only producing noise and a very faint cold blow right over the unit but was sadly unable to cool the room down. Imagine spending a night in July in Tunis without AC. We barely slept all night and were left totally tired the next day to continue with our traveling. Also be aware that some room don't have private bathrooms. Tunis is full of hotels and guest houses I wouldnt book there again. A great shout out the the maintenance lady Madame Layla though for being very sweet and helpful.

Schöne alte Villa, Garten ungepflegt, wäre sonst wirklich schön, Gastgeber freundlich auf eigen zugehend, kleines Frühstück - ok Tomaten Mozzarella Marmelade Honig... Zimmer gepflegt und schöngestaltet, jedoch 53 Stufen im engen Treppenflur bis zu den Zimmer

Formidable maison et table d hôte. De belles chambres. Un escalier majestueux. A choisir sans hésiter . Parking sur place ce qui est du luxe à Tunis. Merci a Ali et a son épouse pour leur accueil, la qualité des repas et les bons conseils pour découvrir la Tunisie.
