Hotel Casa Hormiga

Casa Hormiga is a complete gem in an amazing place. The hotel is a sanctuary built inside a sliver of jungle with the most incredible staff - always ready to help! The food and cocktails are amazing as well. The general vibes are so chill it’s impossible not to relax! The spa is super cool - we didn’t have time to do one of the signature rituals but did have an amazing sound healing treatment outdoors on. Ew years day which was very special. Bacalar is a very special destination and we can’t think of a better place to stay!

Casa Hormiga is an amazing experience. The hotel design is sophisticated and comfortable. Jenn helped us with all of our needs and coordinated our transportation and a truly memorable NYE experience. We are so grateful and highly recommend this hotel!! Easy walk to lagoon and plenty of restaurants and downtown. Breakfast, Yoga, the library, bikes were all nice perks.

Breakfast was included and was excellent. Didn’t need extra but the menu looked fantastic. So easy to get around Bacalar from this hotel. All staff were super friendly. Yoga teacher was welcoming. Drinks in the bar area were lovely, it was such a wonderful place to relax. Had the full retreat spa experience - something I will never forget. Fabulous hotel design and quality hosting. Took bikes out for a ride. Used the library. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. I hope to return.

Such a wonderful environment they've created here. The hotel is peaceful, well-designed, and comfortable in every way. The staff go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. The rooms are large, with great beds, showers and amenities, the location is ideal, and the extras like the spa and restaurant are excellent. Can't recommend enough!

This was a spectacular surprise. They have created a natural and very tasteful sanctuary with their hotel that is very special. We tried the temazcal ceremony and it was an amazing experience lead by Ronny. Special mentions go to Rubén and Rodrigo on the front desk for their professionalism and understanding of what great service really means. Bravo Casa Hormiga!!

I could qualify my experience let's say as something amazing. As for the hotel itself, the hotel is special with "modern" facilities. The swimming pool was particularly special you have a view of a huge stone wall, ideal for sunbathing. The rooms were okay. But let's talk about the service. You will be greeted by totally lost staff. We had to wait 15min to get our room keys because the receptionist couldn't find the keys. He looked completely disoriented and confused. When you asked him a question about breakfast time, for example, he did not know how to handle your request. As for the hotel restaurant, the staff makes no offer to understand English. Also, the wait to get the dishes seemed endless. This created an atmosphere of frustration and dissatisfaction. This hotel could have been a gem, but the service completely tarnished its image. However, we had a good laugh and for that I thank you.
