had 3 nights in Capoe House in April 2025. The rooms are situated in a picturesque setting high up in the hills about 15minutes up a steep road. The rooms themselves are very nice and the service in the accommodation is excellent. You are isolated but easy enough to organise a day trip out like we did in a pickup and drop off at door tuk tuk who took us up to Ella to see some of the local attractions such as the 9 Arches Bridge and Waterfall. Captive for dinner and breakfast but the food was good. Is very relaxing and in a great setting. Just be aware if you are intending to spend the time at the house no TV and Wifi is a bit hit and miss but not really what you're going to stay here for. Great experience overall

This is an amazing boutique hotel located in a beautiful scenery. The staff is so friendly and courteous, it seems they know your wish before you even know it. Great trip to the Bambarakanda waterfalls, and the food was delicios. We stayed in the Villa Ohiya Bedroom which was so comfortable and we where able to get the breakfast in our villa served and we we would have loved to - also the dinner, but we decided to take this in the small restaurant nearby . there are only three rooms whoch makes everything so cozy and familiar. Thanks to the team for staying with you - and to share with us the wonderful landscape and experiences. Simone

We had a fantastic stay. Beautiful location and very accommodating staff. The pick up from the main road was easy and whenever we wanted to go on a trip the staff helped us to achieve this. The swim underneath the local waterfall is highly recommended

The most WONDERFUL hotel experience I’ve ever had. The few days we were there on our honeymoon were lovely. The staff was so attentive and respectful and helpful! Our butler was Chaminda and he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and ensure we were taken care of. The chef, Madusanka, made wonderful meals - breakfast lunch and dinner! They were so accommodating to food preferences and no request was too much! Chaminda took us on a waterfall nature walk as well. The trip was so relaxing and laid back and wonderful! We can’t wait to return and see the lovely staff again!

The Capoe House is a very special, intimate place with amazing views, delicious food and very attentive staff. We had great service from all the staff, especially Kiru. He showed us to a nearby waterfall, and knew a lot about flora and fauna. It is a bit off the beaten track, but worth the effort!

The Capoe House is situated well away from any signs of tourism in the hills surrounded by forest and tea plantations. The views are stunning and the locals tend their crops around the property. We ate really well and the service was excellent. There are walks from the property and a swim in a local stream. Our manager was a zoologist and showed us a pit viper found by a local villager. He was knowledgeable about all the local wildlife. The staff were friendly and because there are so few bedrooms the hotel has an intimate feel about it. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Capoe House for two nights ans had a very good time. The property is very beautiful in the middle of the mountains and nature. After one night in busy Ella this place was perfect for us to find some peace and relax as well as to explore the nature and nerby waterfalls. Lastly, the staff made this experience to a very special one. They took the best care of us and the food was amazing. For sundowner we enjoyed the self-created cocktails from our personal butler Chaminda!

Absolutely bliss! The hotel's location is serene and relaxing. The birding is fantastic as well. We spent two full days without leaving the property. Eranda was extraordinarily helpful, kind, and attentive. The food was very good as well. There are only three rooms so it never felt crowded.

The Capoe House is an oasis of calm, off the beaten track in tea country. Everything about this place is superb. The rooms are very cool, the setting and the excellent naturalist manager provide opportunities for nature walks in lovely country to a waterfall and beyond. The staff are wonderful especially Chaminda. Give them your body and they will give you back your soul.
