Melheim Resort and Spa

It's amazing, on arrival greeted with umbrellas, drinks and a very warm welcome. The staff can not do enough for you it's by far the best hotel of our trip so far. We felt pampered by the staff. The manager is so attentive. Location stunning, rooms fantastic and views to die for. My only issue was the walk to the waterfall. I wouldn’t reccomend as there are leeches and this was not pleasant but isn't the hotel's fault. Wish we could of stayed longer. It's magical.

Stunning scenery and morning sun rise. Nice welcome touch with rose given on arrival. Room clean and tidy. Very warm, ceiling fan only , no A/C. Couldnt .open door as wildlife (monkeys) very very warm room. Restaurant bar and reception area all in one, lovely open air View from dining area. Food choice small compared to other hotels, not really.my personal taste so limited food to eat. (But that's just me) asked for some.more sugar to have a hot drink in room this didn't arrive and our drinks on first night at table late arriving late and not great taste.

We couldn't fault this hotel. It had wonderful views over the forest for miles, I woke up and watched the sunrise from our balcony. The rooms were very spacious and clean, with a massive comfortable bed. In the morning, the monkeys play around breakfast and on our balcony. Breakfast had lots of choice, tea coffee on tap. Pool was lovely, not heated, but it didn't need to be. We had dinner here too, and the food was nice. Games room was nice, and the walk to waterfall was lovely (although there were leaches, and I was paranoid about snakes, so took a stick lol.) Staff were very attentive. They also made me a cake and coffee for my birthday. I would definitely return to this hotel, and it was probably my favourite stay in srilanka. The only bad point was that it was quite away from ella. But it didn't matter as the drive was beautiful.
