We loved our stay at La Jolla! My 3 sisters visited our parents in the Philippines from the US and found it very comfortable. A large family style room with 3 queen beds on the first floor and another queen size bed in the loft. Plenty of hot water to shower comfortably, and a bidet. Would be nice to have had one half bath though, or at least another sink. The beach was nice and clean with soft sand. We were able to walk to the cafe / hut by the infinity pool to order delicious mango, Pinapple, and watermelon shakes and French fries, then the severs brought them out to our shaded chairs on the beach. Would be nice in the future if they had servers come out to the beach area to take orders.... as we would have ordered more! The water was warm and fairly clear, with calm waters. And oh my goodness the sky was full of stars at nighttime! We really enjoyed our massages at the spa. The ladies are petite but have exceptionally strong hands! We enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast/ brunch that was included in our room rate. A lot of variety including made to order eggs and omelets, and Filipino offerings too. This will be a great place to bring my family when they come with me on our next trip. They had an adventure course, and lots of water activities including jet skis and kayaking which we didn't take advantage of this trip. Such a relaxing stay on our way from Manila to our parents home further north west on Luzon. We were only going to stay for 1 night and extended it to 3! And plan for another nights stay on our way back to Manila.

It was not our first time here, but this time we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with how everything turned out during our day tour. We were initially planning to book an overnight stay, but thank God they were fully booked—otherwise, we would have wasted even more money on what they call a “luxury” beach resort. What a JOKE. Lobby Staff: * They don’t know how to properly greet or assist guests at check-in. They seemed completely lost, especially when it came to the collection of environmental fees. Zero professionalism. Restaurant (THE WORST EXPERIENCE): * No one assisted us when we arrived. I had to ask TWICE if we could have lunch already, and the staff themselves looked unsure and had to confirm if lunch service was available. * Once we were seated, we had to ask THREE times for just two extra chairs to accommodate our group of 15. * We even asked the waitress if the plated meals would be served all together or if we had to line up at the servers, but she was unsure and gave us no clear instructions. She also never explained that we needed to choose what food we wanted until we followed up ourselves. If I hadn’t asked again, we would have been left hungry and still waiting for food that was never going to come. * We had two options (Beef Rendang or Chicken Teriyaki), so we ordered and then waited a long time. * They served only 3 soups for 13 people. When we asked if that was it, the server casually said the others would come “later.” That would have been fine if they had informed us in the first place. Instead, we were left confused and waiting. * Drinks were only served to HALF of us, and we had to follow up AGAIN before the rest were given. Absolutely unacceptable. * The staff even started giving excuses, saying she wasn’t supposed to be there because the one assigned to the restaurant was sent to the stock room. Excuse me—why do we, the guests, need to hear that? Is that even our problem?? * Later, she returned and informed us that Chicken Teriyaki was no longer available. Only Beef Rendang and Spicy Pork Bulgogi were left—without any warning that the pork was spicy. We had kids with us! Why weren’t we told upfront so we could decide properly? We had already compromised when chicken wasn’t available, but this just added insult to injury. Front Desk / Exit: * We decided to check out at 3 PM. The staff gave me an exit pass, confirming everything was settled. But when we reached the gate (with 4 cars), the guard REFUSED to let us through and demanded that I go back to the lobby. I even asked if we could just resolve it over the phone, but they insisted I return in person. Such an unnecessary hassle! * When I went back, they suddenly claimed there was an issue with our bill. The manager insisted we ordered 15 set meals, when in reality we only had enough for 13 adults. (Yes, we were 15 pax total, but 2 were kids ages 1 and 4 who obviously didn’t eat the set meals.) We stayed in a Superior Room for 3 days and 2 nights as a family of 4 adults and 1 child. Room: The room was spacious, well-maintained, and clean. There were enough wall sockets, and it was easy to request essentials when needed. I really enjoyed the drip coffee provided—it was very good! The only minor issue was the door, which was difficult to close at first, but when we called for assistance, someone came right away and fixed it. Understandable since it was rainy season, and wood can expand. The slippers were also not the usual thin hotel type, but actual Beachwalk brand ones—very comfortable! Breakfast: Our booking came with complimentary breakfast for 4 adults. Breakfast was buffet style with an egg station, pancakes and cereals for kids, a good bread selection, and coffee. The food quality was great. I just wish they also had hot chocolate, but at least they served juices. Overall, very satisfying. Restaurant: At first, we thought there were other restaurants nearby, but since it was a bit of a hassle to go out, we ended up having lunch and dinner at the in-house restaurant throughout our stay. The servers were very attentive and kind. Food was tasty, but I found the options a little limited and portions just okay. Prices were on the higher side too. Hopefully on our next visit, they’ll have more menu choices. On the plus side, they do have al fresco dining available if you’re bringing your pets with you! Pet-Friendly?: I specifically found La Jolla by using the “Pets Allowed” filter, as I had planned to bring my shih tzu. However, I overlooked the detail that the Superior Room we booked does not allow pets. They do have a clear pet policy—it was just my mistake not reading it thoroughly. Pets are only allowed in certain rooms, with an additional fee per pet. Finding truly pet-friendly hotels outside Manila is still quite challenging, but it’s nice that this resort at least offers pet-friendly options. I do hope in the future they’ll extend this to all room types. Beach: For a quick getaway, the beach was beautiful and well-maintained. It does have a lot of rocks, so I recommend bringing proper footwear to enjoy it fully. Lifeguards were present, and there were also water activities available. Cottages and beach chairs were sufficient for the number of guests. Pool: The resort has three pool areas. Unfortunately, the infinity pool was under renovation during our stay, but we used the Pool Villa area near our room. It was well-maintained, had a lifeguard, and provided beach towels. There was also a jacuzzi, and my nephew especially enjoyed the 3ft kiddie pool. Hopefully next time the infinity pool by the beach will be ready—it looked very promising. Others: The resort grounds are quite large, but it wasn’t a problem getting around since they offer a free shuttle service. This was especially convenient for us traveling with seniors and kids. You can call for a shuttle to go to the restaurant or the beach (since the walk is a bit long a
