We stay 2 nights to explore Tenorio Park. We had everything we needed at the accommodation : - nice welcome - excellent restaurant for breakfast (included) and donner with excellent Quality/price ratio - staff is charming - nice room (lodge) in a quiet place and wonderful garden - free access to waterfall On 2 weeks vacation this lodge is in our top 3!

We had a really nice, five-day stay at Cataratas Bijagua Lodge. The accommodations were just what we needed for our family of four, and the grounds of the lodge were absolutely beautiful. The staff was very welcoming, and the highlight of our days was the amazing traditional breakfast served on the large deck each morning. We ate the most delicious fruit while watching the local hummingbirds feed. Las Cataratas was a great home base for exploring the area, and we were able to take a day trip to Las Playas del Coco as well. This is the lodge for you if nature and the outdoors are your priority. The small town of Bijagua has everything you might need - supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants (sodas), and fruit stands. The lodge owners are also very helpful in booking activities/excursions. Overall we had a great experience and can't wait to go back!

My wife, daughters and I had a wonderful stay at Cataratas Bijagua Lodge in March 2024! The breakfasts were excellent and made fresh. Genuine Costa Rican fare. The location was perfect as it is only 5 minutes from Bijagua and there are trails that lead from the cabins deeper into the jungle (a beautiful viewpoint that overlooks the valley, a waterfall, etc). We saw monkeys, coati, and too many birds to count. The hammock and swinging chairs on the cabin porch were perfect for evening relaxation. The accommodations are perfect for those who are looking for basic necessities rather than the overrated creature comforts that bigger resorts offer. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Cataraas Bijagua Lodge! Werner the owner/host was extremely accommodating and helpful in booking tours and advising us on what to do, and when to do it! The cabins are spacious, CLEAN, and modern, yet rustic, and right in the rain forest, steps to a trail right off the property that leads to a beautiful waterfall. There are several restaurants in the town of Bijagua (about a 5-6 minute drive from the Lodge), but we chose to eat all our dinners in the open air covered patio at the Lodge. Our main server, Natalie, was amazing and very friendly, and the food was delicious, especially the "Garlic Fish"! All the staff were great! If you're looking for a low-key, quiet retreat in the rain forest, this is it!! We'll be back! David & Joanie

Beautiful place with lovely gardens and nice hiking trail . The cabins are nice and private with their own terraces. The breakfasts are delicious and very substantial. Even wifi was good. This is a very convenient location for activities.

Nice location. Room was very clean and we had good hot water. Good hiking trail to the water fall. Trail is a little challenging for non hikers but we spent an enjoyable morning going to the falls anyway. The included breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My friend, cousins and I spent New Years Eve here. Our stay was fantastic! We planned a last minute trip to Rio Celeste after picking up my friend from the LIR airport and this was just perfect. The rooms are super cute with a nice porch to hang out. Staff was super friendly. They also have a mini pool where we spent some time in before ringing in the new year. It's about 20 minutes from the Rio Celeste waterfalls. The surroundings are beautiful. There were so many birds in the morning. It was magical to wake up and do yoga in the porch to the music of birds chirping all around. Beds were comfortable and the windows had screen to protect from mosquitos. Please note there are about 2 miles of gravel road to get to the hotel. We had a 4x4 but i am sure a lower car will make it just have to go slow :) Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're visiting the Rio Celeste area! Highly Recommended!

The place is so beautiful! Views from our room where wonderful and the room was very spacious and cozy. We enjoyed nice hikes around the hotel. The homemade dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service outstanding. Highly recommend!

We spent three nights here during the rainy season. The lodge is situated in a very isolated area at the end of a rough gravel road. The cabin was basic, but lovely gardens. There is a trail to a waterfall which was challenging as it was muddy and the rocks slippery. No wildlife anywhere, maybe due to the time of year. The staff do not speak English, so we made use of Google translations. Since there were only a couple of cabins occupied, only breakfast was provided. There was no lunch or dinner service offered, so we ordered in from local restaurants with the assistance of the owners, as we did not have a car.
