Super amazing place. Silence. Good food. Friendly staff. Cozy bungalows.

The setting of this hotel is idyllic. The views at sunset are mesmerizing and you don’t want the sun to disappear it is so nice. As many have mentioned it is a small resort where most of the bungalows are around the restaurant and pool. The charm is undeniable, the landscape soothing but be aware that during the dry season= summer it is vastly occupied by families, and young kids too.. so the serene setting of the pool may be disturbed. May be 1/2 of the bungalows are multi rooms and therefore be aware if you travel as a couple. it seems to be a favorite for the French families in particular. The spa therapists are excellent and the treatments excellent. The petal bath after a message is heavenly! The food is local and good and options are enough for a 3 days stay. You need a car or to book touring through the hotel, you are outside of the village. The temps are very pleasant in July, warm but still cool enough that you need some sleeves in the evening. Now in terms of negatives, first is that bungalows are wood and 2 of them are next to restaurant so noise is inconvenient at night. The staff will leave at 10 pm which is the end of service but it is well accepted that people hang out beyond that time and continue chatting , or running ( kids) for a bit longer. It feels like they are in your room. The second one, is that the room is small with no real room for luggage. Be prepared to live off your suitcase. And last, the breakfast menu is limited and portions small. Very importantly the people are sweet and want to please and help.

A great alternative for the overcrowded Ubud but with all the charm, set in rice fields this resort is stunning and offers very typical ‘Bali’ scenes. The food was also very high quality using the fresh ingredients grown all around. A great place to stay in Munduk.

That is our favorite place in Bali. Sanak Retreat is the perfect place for families. the place is stunning, with a great restaurant which serves an excellent food overlooking the pool. The bungalows are really comfortable and cozy. We had a sunrise snd sunset balcony with picture perfect postcard views. The massages are very relaxing and there are lots of kids activites like kite flying, balinese dance, rice harvesting, offering making class. The Balinese staff is superfriendly and helpful, you almost feel like at home, of course we wish to have a home like this. Thumps up.

Sanak is the perfect place to stay in the north of Bali outside the typical tourist places! The rooms are rustic beautiful with a lot of little nice things that make you feel home! The grounds and the pool are superb! The staff is absolutely beautiful and the food quality is very high! Our walk around the area and to a beautiful waterfall with a local was amazing!The dolfin tour on the next day was stunning! All organised from the Hotel! Massages outstanding! Thank you for our perfect stay!

Such a gem! It was a highlight for our 9 days trip on Bali. Everybody in the group of 17 people said that it was the most authentic, beautiful and quiet place on this busy island. The traditional bungalows are lovely and cosy, they are in the middle of rice fields and you get an incredible view. The grounds are beautiful, they have two very nice swimming pools, you can find variety of local teas and coffee in bungalows - that was very nice. Good food in the restaurant with nice variety and fabulous breakfast. Nice spa with good and inexpensive treatment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a perfect getaway for a couple of days - if you want to get away from noisy and touristy places on Bali. I am definitely coming back and recommend it to anyone.
