United Colors of Bali

Wow what a great place to stay! Me and my friends only stayed for 2 nights but we all wish it was a lot longer. The staff in particular, especially the man on the front desk, are superb and so friendly. The room itself is large for 3 people; we had 2 double beds on the first floor and an entire open plan living/kitchen area and bathroom. The pool was really good too, perfect temperature. No faults here.

nobody told my room was being upgraded coz the chosen room is full.no clear policy at the beginning about 3% charge payment via card,prefer accept cash,no bank trf.No info service charge 35k for breakfast in the villa,just found out in the morning.no privacy at all, not feel safety the staff can come in, 2nd day when we extended they accept bank transfer?At night a security came inside the villa said no music after 11pm!we're shocked & felt it was invasion of privacy,they can tell us before 10 pm politely, we don't read anything said about no music at all after 11pm!music we played wasn't even loud,we're just enjoying family time talking (me,my huband,niece)in living area with music background not party!I confronted security guard,asked why he just barged in,he said he knocked twice but we didnt hear.That's not an excuse!He could've said "I'm sorry for stepping inside coz I knocked twice and just politely said please turn off music". He did not apology at all just being defensive and argued.Whole thing could've been handled smarter,info the guest through whatsapp "Dear guest,pls no music after 11pm",notify us in the afternoon,since the only communication with the staff only through wa(slow respond too). 1st night my husband arrived to check in around 8.30pm, there were only 2 non local at reception,so clueless not helpful at all! He decided to call security guard himself via walkie talkie on the reception table&ask him to help check in. Earlier I already said to the security guard my husband will be coming later and I need staff to help him and guide him to his room because he just drove from hospital had knee injury!Reception to our room is far. Kitchen utilities is poor! provide stove& pan but no spatula!how can I fry with?no dish washing soap, microwave with styrofoam on top of fridge?Very POOR amenities,just one soap with shampoo in one bottle,cheap green plastic packaging small soap.Very infested wood furnitures many cracked and termites many bugs also inside wall lamp, many mosquitos at night.Woodden deck balcony also so broken, cracked.Eco resort with no eco friendly products,provided mosquito coils?instead of organic products.Hotel booklet is so messy many pages falling off,no clear rules on important things,absurd statemnt on Social Comittment section for orphanage "we collect leftovers medicine by our customers and redistribute to the children"..? Dissapointing not a pleasant stay at all, not good value of money.

We booked the Villa on our first stay in Canggu due to the previous reviews, somewhat intriguing but almost Adventurous. I must admit I wasn't expecting much to be honest as we kind of knew from the moment we walked up to the villa this was going to be exposed to all elements and some of Balis finest insects. That said the villa was pleasantly surprising. I loved the openness and that the seating and shower area are were open to the elements. I wanted to try a habitat like this. And it delivered! My 2 kids were overwhelmed and didn't flitch and loved every aspect of the villa. Tick box! It had just rained and although it was dark the late night manager was ever so respectful and friendly and did his best for us to welcome us with a refreshing ice tea! Breakfast was perfect and served up by some lovely ladies who's warm smiles went a very very long way. The nasi goreng was probably the best I have tasted. But it was all about the fresh fruit plater! The bedrooms a little small but thats the charm, I mean we aren't going to swing cats here! Nets came in very handy. We didn't try the pool as were busy from the moment we got there however my wife and I tried the free pass to the Yoga. What an hour well spent. Our only gripe, and it is just that is that the hot water went off several times and they had to call a plumber on different occasions, the towels were a little worn and weren't changed when asked-but when asked received new ones and no one was hardly at reception. I also forgot a large Bintang in the fridge, maybe Philippe thought it was present for him. Santé But that is it! I didn't get to meet Philippe however, but did meet his brother at the workshop a few yards down from the hotel. What a gentlemen. We spoke about the various pieces of 'art' he was working on namely some sinks. What a great product! I would have taken one had I been in the market for one! If your ever in Canggu and you need an exotic retreat, then this is it!

Amazing hotel! Really can’t complain - beautiful little resort about 10 minute drive from Canggu town and with restaurants and shops near by so not isolated. The villas are private and spacious, quite open in terms of the downstairs having tent curtains instead of walls and the bathroom having a partial roof so there were insects but a massive perk were the mosquitoes nets over the beds so I slept in peace. The pool, yoga and massages were great, staff friendly and the breakfast included was just enough to start the day (not a big feed).

We were supposed to stay at the property for our first three nights in Bali. We entered the two bedroom villa and there were four cockroaches downstairs in the lounge area. The reception removed them but later on they came back again. After we came back from dinner, we wanted to go to bed to find out there were two cockroaches on the bed. Security came to check the whole apartment and we found another 10 (!!) in the bedrooms. He sprayed the bedroom with insect repellent. After he left, we found another 3 big ones downstairs. We went back upstairs, wanted to go to sleep (as far as we could), to find out they came back and we found new ones in the beds. We did not sleep all night!! We moved to a different hotel and the hotel refused to give us any compensation for the 3 nights we booked after this disgusting experience. Dont recommended anyone to stay here!

Endroit incroyable.♥️ Nous avons testé 2/3 des établissements de United Colors et ils sont magnifiques. Rien à redire. Tant par la beauté de ses lieux que par la gentillesses de ses hôtes. Le personnel est adorable, le patron très à l’écoute et toujours disponible et pleins de bons conseils. Les chambres sont très agréables et très propres. Je recommande vivement cet endroit où nous espérons pouvoir retourner bientôt.
